SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays opens at 109,820 retail sales.

Famitsu has published its estimated physical game software and hardware sales data for Japan for the week of November 25, 2019 to December 1, 2019.

SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays was the best selling new release last week, launching at 64,538 retail sales on PlayStation 4 and 45,282 sales on Switch for a total of 109,820 opening sales.

Also new last week, Atlus and Vanillaware’s dramatic adventure game 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim for PlayStation 4 launched at 34,608 retail sales.

Topping both new titles as the number one sold game again this week, however, are Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, which sold an additional 275,959 retail copies.

On the hardware side, the Switch family sold another massive 186,763 units, the PlayStation 4 family sold 8,617 units, and the 3DS family sold 1,580 units.

Yeah we are all confused, the whole thing speaks a lot about how important is the switch factor for the consumer.

Makes one thing clear going forward at least: hybrid console > portable console
 
I wonder how confused Nintendo is right now, that the more expensive standard edition is outselling the cheaper handheld only, Switch Lite in Japan.

13 sentinels took way too long to make to produce these numbers. I hope we get a dragon crown 2 out of them one day, I’m sure the shareholders are going to push for it as well

Yea I honestly don't understand what took so long compared to an action based VW game. You'd think there would be less to develop if most of it is just text and the (gorgeous) visuals. I'm still really bummed out that VW's first foray into mechas was a VN with tower defense.
