Fans petition to ban Ben Affleck as Batman

They could just... not watch the movie. I think WB would care more about that than a petition.

I think the point is to change their minds before they create that celluloid abortion. Not wait til it's a living and breathing abomination, and just sort of ignore it. WB wouldn't even notice.

They call themselves "fan". Pfffft. The same kind of fan who want XBone DRM to return. The same kind of fan who send death threat letters to Ledger when he was announced to be the Joker. I laughing so hard right now.

At least WB didn't choose Jon Hamm. If they do that, they will destroy any chances for a new Max Payne movie to exist.

Can you imagine if this happened during the Ledger days when he was first announced as Joker? Dark Knights wouldn't have been nearly as good as it turned out without him. And I'm curious to wonder who people wanted for Joker anyway. I clearly remember people saying Johnny Depp.... Yeah, cause that would've been great.

Obviously DDL. Deep suits either Riddler or Mad Hatter.

This is one of those things where you realize how bad it's gotten with batman fandom.

The levels people.

Not that. More so people are reminded of the dark times of Batman with this recent news

Depends on the context. Ozymandias (Evil Batman) manipulated Manhattan pretty well. I think Batman could do that.

And I signed it even knowing it probably won't result in anything. Beats just whining about it.

Affleck is contracted for 13 film appearances. Doesn't seem to be a one off shot.

Do people think Christian Bale is what made The Dark Knight Trilogy good? He basically just acted like a normal person as Wayne, and then put on a strange voice for Batman. Not to knock his acting (he's a great), but it really didn't take a lot to pull off what he did.

Nolan and the villains are what made TDK trilogy good.

Affleck was boss in Argo and The Town.

Y'all mothafuckas need to stop treating the next Batman like the next Pope.

Afleck was G as fuck in The Town. Fuck the haters. He probably will suck as barman tho lol.

On the contrary - I think Ben Affleck would make a fine barman.

Anyone who thinks that obviously need to re-watch Batman Begins. The clue is in the title - it's all about the man himself, and it's by far the best performance Bale put into the trilogy.

He gets a pass.

The town was amazing, based on that... ill give him another shot. Before continuing to make fun of him as an actor.

You mustve missed the third movie, when batman is in it for a total of 15 minutes. Clearly its what made it a good movie.

200 years?

Ben Affleck reaching Keanu-levels of immortality confirmed.

You need to recognize that we have been waiting for this movie for you dont know how long. And we get it, and it's starting this motherfucker. Fuck a Argo. If there was an ass we could kick that would change all of this, you'd see shit going down like Gotham City Imposters.

But in no way do most people associate the movies with Bale's performance in Batman Begins. Nolan's storytelling, Ledger's Joker, and Hardy's Bane are remembered. There are countless other actors who could've done what Bale did, Ben Affleck included.

I can't even tell what you're trying to say. lol

And TDKR came out last year.

Nothing will inspire DC to make more movies like the man babies making petitions about their actor choices. I've questioned a couple actor choices for comic movies in the last 8 years and not a single movie was ruined by the actor.

There's a difference between forum debates and this level of insanity.

Batman movies are for children you nerds! *Sits down in his bean bag chair and plays Mario*

But seriously I don't understand why people are getting so worked up over this petition. It's not going to do anything aside from letting angry fans vent.

Only because Christopher Nolan directing Batman movies combined two of the most insufferable fan communities into one gestalt monstrosity.

Well that and just...after TDK, Batman fans have become onto a higher level of "You owe this to me" with every year after TDK. Standards have skyrocketed. Voices shrilled. Fanboyism has doubled 1000 fold.

here's something quick and dirty.

Saw this on my Facebook feed before. Do people actually think that it will change anything?

I'll watch it and see if it's any good. Actors do this thing, I think it's called acting, where they make you believe that they are actually the person you are seeing on the screen.

I don't know... That's the idea.

The whole point of the "prep time" Batman meme is that there's nothing he can't figure out, no weakness he can't find a way to exploit. Before you know it, Batman would find some shit that reverses Dr. Manhattan back to human form where he bodies him easily. Pretty dumb, but hey. lol

watchmen spoh-lers
Ozymandias beat him

The stars in the MLP bar are a nice touch.

While I object to the idea that Afflect is incapable of making the role his own, I also reject the idea that Bale didn't bring anything to the role, which people look at and somehow think it's so utilitarian. There are countless other actors who could've done what Bale did? Why does that matter? How can anyone qualify that sort of argument? "Hey guys, anyone could've done what Michael Keaton did." Okay?

And for what it's worth, I largely attribute Bale's excellent performance to the overall quality of Batman Begins. It's his showcase for a whole hour before he puts on the cowl.

Uh people have every right to be upset and protest against a decisions that is going to destroy the good barman name and kill the character worse that Clooney did.

Affleck has already proven he cannot play a good comic movie when he ruined the great daredevil who was one of the true disability heroes for blind kids to look up to.

And I don't want j-lo in my fucking superman movie.

The attempt by this group of pallid, stunted hermits to control Hollywood will fail. Then they will sit in their gloomy, screen-lit rooms and know that they are now just that little bit smaller. They signed a batman petition. They signed it.
