Fast company: Will Wii U Join The Gaming Graveyard?

They had a profit during the GameCube era because both GameCube and GBA were sold at a profit, and Nintendo had a monopoly on portable games at the time. Now both the WiiU and 3DS are being sold at a loss, and the portable space is being taken over by phones and tablets now. Ninendo's fucked.

assuming that's true, it's just for this gen. Nintendo is sitting on a massive pile of cash, they can afford 10-15 more Virtual Boys (abject failures) before their very existence is put in jeopardy. they have a lot of breathing room.

The 3DS has been profitable ever since the 3DS XL launched.

They aren't going to be selling the devices for a loss the entire gen and aren't they making money on the 3DS now?

Man the DC gets me every time. Such a great looking console.
The gaming world is in a very different place now, I think it's caught Nintendo off guard.

All websites and news try to push nintendo as much as they can to let nintendo show there 3rd party weapon to competitors.

Nintendo very strong company to hide their secret :)

Oh well. Was a nice run for the company. I'd hate to be Sony and MS right now, though, reading this sort of stuff.
