favorite female antagonists? (hide spoilers please)

Antagonists, bruh.

If we're talking Suikoden, it does have them, and they are good. Alenia is one example.

This woman takes every characteristic a knight is supposed to have and makes it negative and unappealing.
Loyalty (to a vile purpose), conservative (advocates for slavery), immovable in their beliefs (which are toxic), sees their duty through to the end (including fighting the good hearted prince she once served). She's a great villain because she's such an unlikable character.

What?

Sialeed
is a much better example of a female "antagonist" in Suikoden V. Alenia did what she did
because she's in love with Gizel: she's being reduced to the typical "oh my lord I am so in love with you I am willing to do anything for you" archetype
, which is just bad, imo.

I was gonna say i like the glados and Kerrigan answers but then I saw the (Phoenix Wright 3 antagonist) post and it instantly made my blood boil so i guess she wins. Such a great villain from an amazing series.

I always thought Petrine from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance had a cool design and concept as one of the Four Riders of Daein. She has this air of command about her that makes her seem imposing, and she hounds you throughout most of the game, being one of those bosses that's built up as threatening for a long time before you finally get to fight them much later. She's a racist (the crux of one of the the game's major conflicts) but she's not blindly evil -
she's Branded, which means she herself has been persecuted by Laguz because of racism, causing her to project her painful past onto their race as a whole
. It's one of those situations where you can understand where the villain's reasoning comes from, but still recognize it as an ultimately wrong answer.

Spoilers about the character, obviously.

wait where was it stated that she was a branded? I never knew about that. So cool! I always thought she was so tough because she was very afraid of death, and with Ashnard as her commander death was all always around the corner, that's why she pushed her people to the furthest just to make sure she herself doesn't get sacked.

That may have been the ultimate reasoning behind her actions, but the way her personality manifested made her a more effective villain than
Sialeeds
, IMO. I do agree that
Sialeeds is a much more interesting character but her villainess role only comes about at the very end of the game and you're made to sympathize with her.
Alenia is just a straight up asshole for the entire game, even during the prologue when she's on your side.

Spoilers about the character, obviously.

It's revealed in her battle conversation with Soren.

Lorithia
from Xenoblade had a cool design IMO. She was also quite good at making you hate her.
