These officers are so untrained in the use of those assaults. Pretended to be a soldier with none of the discipline.

How not to get the faith of your people in three easy steps: 1. Swear at them. 2. Point an assault rifle at them. 3. Threaten to kill them.

Those videos are horrible, just awful...

Crazy, what is going on in America?

Just saw it on the news.
Officers walking towards protestors with better weapons than we had in Afghanistan.
Pure crazyness.

Poor officer, forced to stare down those scary journalists with their cameras of mass destruction.
Now introducing a new course to the curriculum: Cause and effect, how can you prevent escalation?

I'm reading on a couple of far right websites that Dorian Johnson has changed his story and is now saying that Brown did attack Wilson.
But I have yet to see any such report from reputable media sources. Probably bullshit?

Well, you already have all the answers.

This appears to be the source:

From breitbart:
The “hands up” story may be true; then again, it may be false. But it is true in the minds of millions of black people around the United States, thanks to a media eager for a race controversy – and it will remain the dominant story, no matter what the truth is.
lol

The amount of undertrained, overweight, wannabe bullies Ferguson employs seems to be disproportionate to the average population.

You know how you deescalate a situation? A strong but non-threatening demeanor and approaching people like they're humans. If anyone in my unit had behaved like this in Iraq they would have been put on permanent shit detail to keep us and the local population safe. 99% of the time the best thing you can do when there is an angry group of civilians is approach them at the low ready and engage them in a professional tone about what is and is not acceptable in the current situation.

Of course, I say all this with the idea that peacefully protesting(no matter if it's wasted on a thug) or filming are acceptable, which these police seem to disagree with me about.

The god that I pray to is the one that took Andrew Breitbart off this earth. Fuck that guy and the people who now run his site.

Well like other gods, yours is imaginary. Hateful bullshit like this is what is wrong with our country. Just because you don't like someone or the way they think doesn't mean you should rejoice at their death. You are what is called a shitty person.

I mean, holy fucking shit. Never before in my lifetime have I seen so many people double down on stupid over and over and over again. There are two options here. (1) The officer was scared and was completely unable to reign in his fear and emotion, or (2) he's a complete psychopath who is just itching for a reason to put someone, apparently anyone, down. Either way, the bigger problem--yes, bigger than him pointing a gun at some journalist--is that his superior officer, who instructed him to point his gun down, let him keep his gun. Last night he threatened journalists who more or less were being complaint with police instructions. Tonight, what if he's hit with a water bottle or a rock from the crowd? Is he going to be able to restrain himself from pulling that trigger?

Is this indicative of the type of person they have in law enforcement in the Ferguson area? It's hard to argue otherwise based upon this incident (thankfully caught on tape) and the other incidents that have been reported.

They have been pointing guns at everyone ever since this started so yeah.

All of these photos of the increased violence over the past few days really breaks my heart. The officers with guns and tear gas and everything else.....

This is escalating so quickly. It pains me to see so many people being treated like cattle like this.

I don't know if this is legit or not but I read somewhere that there are gang members grouping together to prevent looting in shops like this:

If true, that really says something, imo. But again, I don't know if its real but I really hope it is.

(I've been gone for the past few days due to working so I'm still catching up on info, pardon if I'm off or missing things for a bit ;____; )

I'm going to go with 1. Fear makes people do incredibly stupid and irrational things...you can see it on his face, he's fucking spooked. He has no business being out there.

He's armed and shouting at a news crew. The man isn't spooked, he's a coward, plain and simple. The problem is that a lot of this in ingrained in their training. These cops are told bullshit like "every day you go out there you're going to war" and "any day could be your last in when you're in uniform". Spoiler: you're not "going to war". Those are US citizens with rights. Also a higher percentage of people die from automobile accidents than police killed on duty.

It's just an extension of America's fear driven culture.

Dude, he's spooked...you can be scared and still shout, lol.

He's both a coward and scared witless, to the point of being unfit for the job.

From what I could tell, they're not gang members, just citizens of Ferguson dressed up for protesting. The town has a 70% African American population.

You shouldn't really assume they're gang members, actually. That does sort of roll into the "they're thugs" mentality that we should be working to fix.

And for the record, yeah, that's real. They were on the VICE stream a few days back protecting the stores from looters.

That's the same guy the I Am Mike Brown live stream was filming a lot earlier in the night. He was standing around smoking, playing on his cell phone, sweating like a pig, and generally didn't look like he belonged at all. Had the total "I'm semi-incompetent but my brother got me a desk job" vibe going on.

So Tim capped off his night by losing his car keys and having to call AAA. I think that's a fitting conclusion.

#OfficerGoFuckYourself makes me sick.

I got lucky and clicked on the live stream just as this was happening. That whole situation was crazy.

I haven't had time to follow any of this. Is there a wiki or summary page that talks about how all this started and got to where it is now?

He probably left them IN his car, next to his supply of water and extra iphone cables. :p

Edit: and presumably his press pass from 2 nights ago.
