Yes, I know I have a different view than many. Minimal regulations, minimal government, minimal interference with individual freedoms. Sometimes there will be negative consequences, but there are negative consequences to everything that is done - including trying to "save" people from themselves.
But relative to this particular issue, I didn't see anywhere that she was necessarily psychotic or suicidal. Maybe I missed it. She's certainly different, but that's no crime. Leave her be as far as I'm concerned.
If we start intervening in everyone's life who is a little odd, we're going to need to build a whole lot more institutions.

Yeah I’m not sure how you extrapolate that from what to me are freakish features not anything like any real human female. But maybe that was her original inspiration before things went horribly awry.

Yeah, I think she just saw certain things (lips, butt, etc) as needing to be bigger than the next woman... Black or white. But when I look at her NOW, especially the pic I posted, she comes off as a caricature of a light skinned black woman with a phat booty and full lips...
The labiaplasty is stupid, though. Some women have a naturally phat kitty... Most don't unless they gain a lot of weight.

I brought those up as other examples of helping people in spite of themselves. I agree this woman is not to the level of institutionalization, though an intervention wouldn't hurt.
We're on the same page here, and yes there are cons either way. But letting people destroy themselves (set the woman in question aside and think of, say, heroin addicts) strikes me as a sort of negligent homicide at the society level. Philosophical consistency sometimes has to give way to particular cases -- "No plan survives contact with the enemy."
