I expect Mass Effect 3 at this timeframe. Or the next Xbox.

SE has enough money and enough staff members to work on multiple projects without problems. They are investing the right amount of money into FFXIII's project, and will be willingly to invest more if needed to (IF needed to). Anyways, AC was a success, so if anything, the creation of AC only bought even more money for SE to invest on FFXIII than otherwise. So, it was actually a good thing for FFXIII that they invested so much money on commercially successful projects before. And they will keep doing so because they have enough spare money to invest.RyuHayate said:Even so, the money invested into the development of those projects could've been better placed for the creation of FFXIII.

Anyway, 2009. Probably early 09. March 09 Japan, Christmas 09 U.S.

They'll cut budget for the game and push the release to fall 2010.Gekkonidae said:The question is, how will square-enix respond if the PS3's installed base is lagging badly by the time the release is approaching?
Thoren said:When was the last time Square made a "Best RPG?" Back in the PSX days?
I agree, but the president already said some time ago that he wanted for the company to start creating new IPs and franchises, and The Last Remnant seems to be the result. Hopefully, TLR will be commercially successfull (even if it not ends up being very good), not (only) because SE has finally a new franchise under their name, but so they can continue creating more new IPs.RyuHayate said:Perhaps I'm getting a bit off topic here, but I'm just going to say it: Square-Enix is a non-risk taking publisher that wouldn't be capable of standing on its own too feet if it weren't Final Fantasy providing the support it needs (and please don't bring the Kingdom Hearts series into this, because if it weren't for its inclusion of the Disney characters and settings, it wouldn't be as nearly as successful as it currently is).
will hurt the brand...First Children said:They'll cut budget for the game and push the release to fall 2010.
Grivenger said:It definitely IS more "mature" than most of the FFs, but that's not saying much, as the FF series are hardly the definition of maturity.
Well, I do think the "story" (as in, the concepts, the characters, the ideas, etc) is awesome and had a lot of potential, but the way the story was told, AKA the storytelling, was really bad after the first 1/3 part of the game.probune said:Yeah, okay. I never said it wasn't more mature than previous games in the series. I just said that the story's not as incredibly awesome as everyone seems to think.
This just in : some people like FF and don't read kay's posts on neoGAF.kay said:Everyone reading that post would understand english.

I think we'll see FFXIII in spring or later 2008 for Japan and xmas for the US. Xmas 2007 Demo for the japanese :O
Squeenix might do a simultaneous release on xmas 2008 for US/JN just to have a bigger install base
Euro get it Spring 2012 of course![]()
BTW GI's info was a BS rumor. A bad one at that.

ssoass said:Oh yeah, I played 1 and 2, I guess I'd put them a bit before FFXII but not Vagrant Story.
It's all in Vagrant Story's presentation, no other RPG comes close to it.
Outside of RPGs, only MGS is similar.
