Might be going. I've been there twice, but haven't gone since they switched hotels. That Sheraton was truly godlike in terms of layout . Sucks that the ballroom is puny, because it's the best experience in terms of just going around and finding games and feeling like it's all about the event.

I only knew about EVO when dial up started to phase out and you could download videos at a reasonable rate. They only uploaded specific matches and back then YT wasn't popular/taken off so you had to go to a site and download match videos usually with crappy quality. It was that or buy EVO VHS/DVDs.

I don't even remember how I learned about the FGC, but I think I have all of the EVO VHSs and DVDs since B4. The B4 tapes were the first FGC paraphernalia I ever bought.

I just revert a lot of his damage buffs

Solar Plexus: 100 --> 120
Cr. MK: 60 --> 70
Cr. MP: 60 --> 70
Sweep: 90 --> 100
Ultra 2: Sped up to 6f from 8f

Basically I just want him to be rewarded for what he does, playing good footsies and punishing opponents mistakes. Ultra 2 goes from a decent anti-air to a very scary one now. But it still does shitty juggle damage so U1 is still the ultra to choose for comeback factor. And one more thing. How about giving him the donkey kick? Come on, we can make it work without it being too cheap.

The Sheraton Suites was absolutely godlike for casuals, since you could see about 80% of the rooms at any given point in the hotel, so it was really easy to figure out who was playing what. Too bad the tournaments have gotten way too big for that space.

When you have that many people in that small of a space, there's no real way to avoid the stank. I'm not going to deny it (because god damn it can get awful -- not even a bucket of Febreeze can help you at that point), but I'm pretty sure a room full of SF4 or UMvC3 players in that small of a space would smell just as bad. They don't have the stereotype of being unwashed, waifu-loving sadlifes.

It was pretty weak between the release of BlazBlue and Persona 4 Arena.
I mean, Guilty Gear this year has more entrants than any iteration of BlazBlue ever had at NEC prior (BBCP is 3 vs 3 this year).

MBAA was one of the bigger games at NEC for a couple of those years; hell in 2009 it was the second biggest game at NEC, behind SF4. Even in 2010, GG and MB were still two of the bigger games there (this was probably more due to a dearth of FGs, hell MvC3 and MK9 were not even out yet). It was really only in 2011 that there wasn't a headline anime fighter (and if anyone says UMvC3 they're getting smacked).
