Fighting Games Weekly | Sept 2-8 | Pushing Society Forward

Hey guys for the past few months I've been debating on whether I really want to pick up fighting games seriously, and tonight I decided that answer is yes. So uh I decided on playing Guy in SF4. Anything I should know? Also planning on learning KoF.

You should give the OTs of each of those games a look at. You'll probably get all the info you're looking for from the regulars. There's also some helpful guides in the opening post of the KoF OT.

man. Kof has some of the best guides ever. Juicy bits, orochinagi, dream cancel, srk wiki.

Chris G says no one will do the soul drain no meter gain infinite because it's too high risk. If you drop it at a certain point, you'll get fucked by people mashing S/helm-breaker.

Get an arcade stick!

Also, you've made a huge mistake. I main Guy, and he is very difficult to use, and not very rewarding even when everything goes right.

That being said, welcome to the club!

I got into SF4 playing Guile, then Akuma, then some Adon and Makoto before landing on Guy.

Even if you stick with Guy, I recommend practicing some fundamentals with Ryu, like his crouching medium kick to fireball and anti-air Ultra 1 to start, working your way up to FADC Ultra and some link combos. Even if just in the training rooms, I found the fundamentals of SF4 a lot easier to learn with Ryu than Guy.

Yo this new Doom corner BnB looks sick. Not autopilot enough for most people though. That shit does mad damage.

I like how he talks about how Soul Drain infinite isn't worth the risk and then adopts a Doom corner combo a thousand times easier to drop. He's tried it like twenty times and dropped it virtually every time.

Chris G listening to Love Lockdown on repeat?

Oh double shin-shoryuken combo, how I've missed you :')

EDIT: Dem limbs

EDIT2: Okay that flashy Hawkeye combo was sick.

Played some DoA5U though the "demo". Demo's pretty nice for me to try fighters I never really played before.

I rarely ever try 3D fighters too, so that's kinda nice.

Someone tweet FChamp to make Anti-Zero tutorials. He is asking for ideas for his next tutorial videos but I don't have Twitter.

The Vergil stuff is old news, he has a tutorial video on him and Strider.

Wouldn't that vid just be him turning off the console?

Yea but there is legitimate anti Zero tactics that a lot of players don't use. Stuff like punishing Pizza Cutter, punishing Buster into Lightning, gaps in his strings, gaps in his mix ups, how best to block him, when to push block him, how to zone him out.

Flocker vs FChamp FT5 set pre-EVO with FChamp displaying his anti Zero strats.

anyone having problems with Chris G's twitch?

It's stuck on loading the video and it's only his stream for me

Justin's Iron First-Spencer-Strange team looking sicker and sicker every time I see it.

Snaketits might as well be the training mode bot.
