Fighting Games Weekly | Sept 2-8 | Pushing Society Forward

I think Skullgirls would be the perfect game for both of them.
Neither of them play it, but it has strong influences in styles of games they're both more familiar with than the other (air dashers for Tokido and Marvel 2 for Justin).

My money's on Kazunoko, Fuudo, and Tokido winning their matches. Daigo vs Infiltration I'm still iffy on, while it can go either way for the Sagat exhibition. I have no idea for the last one since I don't watch SC much.

I would be highly interested in watching a special exhibition where notable fighting game players with different main games/backgrounds competed in "neutral" games. Showcasing absolute fundamentals and ability to adapt on the fly.

Same. Would test their adaptation, even if the play level wouldn't be the highest. For guys like Justin/Tokido- it's hard to find a neutral game, unless you draw deep into the book of Poverty.

Sp00ky should interview Arcana Heart players like Arturo did.

Oh god. -_-
Though imagining what his schedule will be like, wonder how much he'll have to do any of that. Hope he gets to crack it out in some Melty at the arcades at least, it's his first trip to Japan.

Welp, time to purge my viewing history.

Street Fighter 4 and EX series are pretty much the same. Confirmed.

I wish; could you imagine what it would be like if Ayako Saso or Shinji Hosoe worked on the original stage music for IV?

There's a person called linnesaka who posts Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 matches on Youtube from time to time. Since it's Monday, I figured I might as well throw some links into the thread too:

When you plumb the depths of the Book of Poverty... nobody wins. They'll end up having to play a set of games from stuff like Blue Breaker Burst, Chaos Breaker, Phantom Breaker, and Garouden Breakblow.

They could go even deeper and play stuff like Fighters Masters, Masters Fighters, Justice League Task Force, TMNT:TF on the Genesis and SF4 on the NES... but then everyone on stream would end up on sudoku watch.

I want to live in this world.

I hope he gets to meet Gamanoabura again. Seems like he disappeared after he stopped streaming. All he post on twitter is about Dragon Quest and frog pics.

Y'all ever get the feeling you want to play a game, but then look at everything you have and say "I don't want to play any of this right now?"

I'm perplexed at my own feels right now.

Sure.

I've been wanting to play Lords of Shadow, but I keep holding it off to do something else. It has a lot to do with video games not being my number one source of entertainment. I'm sure I'll get around to playing some time later in the week.

I like Garouden Breakblow, haha
It's ugly as sin, but it's pretty interesting. I just wish the weird tiered super system was a bit more streamlined.

I've felt that way a lot recently.
Sometimes I muster up the energy to try to play one anyway, but then I end up getting frustrated the moment I hit a wall, so I switch to another game. And then I do the same thing for that game, and then another, and another, until I quit in disgust.

And then the next day I end up making crazy-good progress in half of my backlog. It's weird.

All the time. I'm never going to finish everything in my backlog because of this.

Yeah I have so much shit on Steam I've bought that I genuinely do like playing, or have really wanted to play and bought just so I could get around to it some day.

And then I have the spare time and I'm sitting here looking at Dead Rising 2, Magicka, Mark of the Ninja, Alan Wake, Bastion, etc. like "nah." I think I'm at a point where I'm afraid of any sort of time commitment to gaming. Which especially sucks for fighting games but I've been in this groove for a while now.

Problem is game overload for me. I think I've played 10 different games over the past two weeks. They're enjoyable, but I guess the high amount of games being produced does have a price on my mental patience.

I never have backlog problems. Mostly because I don't have more than 3-4 active games at one time. Right now it's only Divekick (which I am going to stop playing regularly because I have achieved my goals for the game), Skullgirls, Castlevania LoS and DOTA 2. Skullgirls I want to play more but I get frustrated playing the game on Keyboard, it's one thing to get out played but it's another when your mind tries to do something but your hands do not.

I don't really buy games unless I know that I will be beating them or putting a decent amount of time in them.

You kinda gave me an idea. I'm now thinking of adding an "Active" category to my steam library. I'll set the limit to an arbitrary 3 and stick to just those three at a time. I already have a category for my completed games that I'll just update over time.

lol, I often look at all my stuff and think to myself, fuck this shitty, boring hobby

I look at my entire collection of games that I've either barely started or not even booted up, like Dark Souls, Dragon's Crown, Vanquish

then go back to playing Black Ops 2

Kamizono is gonna win over Kayane IMO. The soul community in Japan is a lot stronger than most areas now since people are being bitches and dropped it, and Japan has continued to play since day 1. He's got tons of experience against Kayabes main too

Another idea I had was Tennis rules- you alternate games between SF4 and Marvel until someone goes 2 up.

Steam sales have completely destroyed this rule for me.
Yeah Steam might be the end of me too. Last weekend there was a Witcher franchise sale that was DIRT CHEAP. I was super tempted to buy it but didn't on principle. I knew that if I bought it, I would not be able to play it as I already have Castlevania to play.

I have already beaten the Witcher games though so I guess it was easier to pass up.

It's not like steam stuff goes away after a given amount of time. I've bought many cheap steam games that I didn't get around to playing for a year or more, but it's usually so cheap I don't really care. I bought the THQ pack last summer sale I think, played through SPACE MARINES and had a good time, well worth the price on it's own. Might get around to playing the Dawn of War games at some point, but it's no loss if I don't.

Fighting-GAF,
Does anyone have recommendations for buying an Ethernet over powerline adapter?
I'm moving into my new apartment this week and won't be able to set up my PS3 in the same room as the cable Internet modem.
Wireless is ass for gaming, so I need a wired solution that I can use in my apartment.
I had been looking at these:
TrendNet 200Mbps set

DLink 200 Mbps set

TrendNet 500 Mbps set

Does anyone have experience with these specific models and brands, or have a specific model to recommend?
Will a 200Mbps adapter set be sufficient or will I need a higher speed?

I'm looking for something sub-$50.

Thanks in advance guys.
