At this point I find myself hoping they release this in the west before PSP is out of business (literally), I wouldn't like having to get it from the PSN.
wow, very impressive.Spiegel said:

Big One said:I like that it's in the style of the FF1/FF2 remakes in terms of how the character sprite look. All of the FF4 ports have kept the old SNES style in tact so it's refreshing to have new sprites.
BocoDragon said:I'd be totally fine with an FFVI remake in this style. I've long been excited/afraid about what a VI remake could bring to the table, but a mere re-draw + upscale is a safe crowd pleaser.
Regarding the gallery mode, the magazine says this will feature CG movies and illustrations related to FFIV and The After Years.
They look exactly like 1&2 on psp.ULTROS! said:Looks very nice. I'm glad they don't look like FFI and FFII PSP.
I and II PSP look like flash games. :/

I hope we get the 2D remakes first. While I enjoyed III & IV for DS, they really felt like totally different games.Teknoman said:To be honest, now i'd like both a 3d remake of V and VI with voice acting and then 2d redraw :lol I still think Amano art SD and 3d looked nice, regardless of the DS power.
I assumed they would just throw them into emulators in a little 4:3 box on the screen. They're not 3D games, so redoing them in PSP resolution is a big job.Emonga said:I don't know why people here are so surprised by how good this looks, considering FF I&II were already the prettiest games on the PSP.

A slick 2D rendition of III, V & VI would be truly resplendent. Then they can go 3D crazy, presumably on the 3DS.

Yeah, this doesn't sound good at all. Distrust well earned. The big question is if the game will force you to play FFIV before starting The After Years -- something that's presumably on the mind of players who've played one of the many remakes of FFIV. Jump does not say how the two titles will be accessible.

I was wondering how things would work out, between the increased resolution of the PSP and the increased resolution of the sprites. Looks like vertical field of view is less in the end. Might even be a narrower view than GBA/WSC versions, though generalizing on one comparison is a Bad Idea.Spiegel said:

it uses the exact same technique. prepare to type :/ a lot more when you finally get your hands on it.ULTROS! said:Looks very nice. I'm glad they don't look like FFI and FFII PSP.

fakedit:beaten but I was right.

Grimmy said:They redid the music in I & II on the PSP, so no reason to believe they won't for this new version. Or will they just recycle the DS' soundtrack? Hmmmm
Why? It's basically free money.StuBurns said:I really hope this comes out in English, I know I can sink a lot of time into this given the chance. I am a little worried they won't bother though.
