I gotta post after the storm settled down. I had a good laugh for 7 pages with the statements of our Final Fantasy Avatar friend here. Thanks for the good time folks but I gotta stick with my opinion of FFVII Remake being the better game with Final Fantasy XIV being tied for me (enjoyment-wise).

I played both through to completion (XV without viewing any of the shit to give the story the context it desperately needed), and I have to say FFVIIR is the better game in all respects. However, I think FFVIIR wouldn't have been possible without the groundwork that XV laid down in terms of game design, combat, and its overall presentation, so credit should definitely go where it is due.

also worth to mention that Emet-Selch is the only villain that made in top 10 with the rest character is full of main cast of good guy.

FFXV deserves a TON of praise for how it developed a story line in one game. The resolution of the endgame feels more satisfying than other FF games that multiple games. The culmination of the brotherhood is so damn satisfying.

Mod team asked D.final to please shorten their posts and to not use as many gifs.

Banter between users was not the cause of the ban, nor is it typically.

But this is not the case.

Because one of the two games is polarized by excessive and largely unjustified or exaggerated hatred.
While another is honored, or slightly preferred, for its ancient history and solid fanbase.

For this reason the result was obvious already predictable from the beginning.
But in large part, probably, for the wrong reasons.
And therefore not fair competition.

Nah, the hate was totally justified and FFVII:R just had less to hate while FFXV was just a giant mess.

If FFXV had came out and was a masterpiece it would have had a chance but people just didn't like it as much as you did. No need to use longtime VII fans as an excuse for people thinking XV was bad, They just were more bothered by it's flaws that you were while they though those in VII were minor.

I find him annoying. That said, the bans are out of control lately. People are getting banned for absolute trivial stuff. It's reminiscent of old GAF. There was no reason for aban from that post.

Then you see people getting banned for "console wars" where they really didn't say anything offensive, and the mods respond back console warring themselves.

For example, someone just got banned because teasing a console is off limits and the ban message from the mod is:

Clearly your last ban did nothing. All you can do is cry and derail all Microsoft threads, must be hard having no news about your beloved Playstation right?

On the other side, this guy got a permanent ban over this comment that I can't find a single thing wrong with:

Both consoles will be able to do limited Ray Tracing at best on AAA games, especially open world without cut backs in resolution, framerate, and all sorts of other graphical effects. It's just too demanding. People should temper their expectations. However, i do expect the more powerful console to be more ray tracing capable as is expected.

He did do it a dozen times in the thread though, not a couple, i don't think it's a fair comparison. I don't believe that's a reason to ban someonme, i like gifs even though some people with limited internet will argue otherwise.

He probably got banned because the admins asked him nicely to stop or keep it down a little and he still kept doing it.

The posts were too long and spammy. Passion is fine but a massive wall of gifs and several giant bolded "THIS GAME IS AWESOME" lines is too much. Plus the warning(s) on top of that.

I say this as someone who considers XV one of the better games in the series. As long as it's not a perm-ban, it's the right decision.

The reason he got banned was because he spammed out a bunch of text and gifs, was politely asked to stop by a mod, and decided to flaunt that request. ANYONE would get banned for that, regardless of subject.
