That is totally amazing. It doesn't change that
a.) Position is important
b.) You have no control over your position
that you are ok with an important aspect being out of your control and the game frequently putting you in poor positioning is fine but it's irrelevant.
The point I was trying to make is that I don't understand why people specifically complain about it FFXIII while grandia and FFX-2 were lauded (more realism) for having the same feature.
Yes, I do like controlling games where the A.I. works poorly *golf clap*
First of all, I couldnt think of a better general configuration. You cant argue the AI brakes the game because its perfectly possible to 5-star every battle with the correct roles and equipment. If it wasnt, you had an argument.
Secondly, you need to accept that FFXIII is all about working with a fixed AI. Youre not
supposed to control partmembers directly but to coach them. Its macromanagement gameplay just like gran turismo B-spec or football manager 2009.
You can curse all day long how the driver AI doesnt overtake the car in front by driving over a small stroke of grass like you usually do or you could just accept that (even if youre a better driver) youre
not the one sitting in the car and do your job which is giving the AI the right car with the right settings and then give the right commands in order to make
him win.
3, the biggest pro of FFXIII's fixed AI system is that it makes the entire game challenging for most gamers because it buffers player skill. The devs were able to scale the difficulty level properly because they could configure it with only one AI template in mind.
FFXIIs gambit system was excellent as well, but on one hand you had skilled players who got bored, on the other hand you had less skilled or experienced gamers who got slaughtered because they had poor skill priorities and roles for their party members.
