Final Fantasy XV - Omen Trailer

Yeah, I mean, cool trailer and all, but the greatest win is obviously Shirtless Noctis!

OT: What an amazing trailer! This is exactly what I was missing for this game: something to set the stakes of the narrative, beyond the run-of-the-mill reclaim your throne theme. Just when my mind was loosening its grip on this game due to all the NS news, it just pulled me RIGHT back in! If this is at all representative of the story that awaits us, I am sure the game will be absolutely stunning, and for me probably GOTY.

Came here just to ask, the only media I have consumed for this game is those short anime videos.

Can I watch this without spoiling the main plot of the game or is this supposed to be something to watch if you want to be spoiled?

Not spoilers, just a neat concept video of a dream/vision King Regis has.

Beautiful looking Hair

Also lol at Noctis losing his shirt bit by bit

Aya Brae would be proud!

Boy, this trailer sure is divisive! (Edit: seemingly less divisive in here than in the live stream thread though).

I thought it was damn awesome, finally gave me a sense of what the game might feel like, or what direction it might go, post opening. Though I do feel bad for Luna. Always suffering stoically!

Didnt feel FF at all for me.

That's the point. How people keep failing to see that this game needs new fans is beyond me. That trailer was exactly made for that purpose. I'm much rather have this types of trailers and see the franchise return to what it once was in popularity then seeing it dye because it didn't appeal to new generations. I want to play new FF games beyond this one and if this type of trailer is the sacrifice needed, then so be it. I thought the trailer was good by the way.

Yah this trailer is amazing... just watched it a 2nd time. Really gets me excited for the game...

I need to watch Kingsglaive, don't I...

That was by far the best trailer this game had ever since it was still called Versus. Are we sure it wasn't made by Nomura and not Tabata?
It was made by neither.

Kingsglaive isn't even an enjoyable watch if you're drinking and making fun of it during the experience. It's a really terrible film.

Agreed completely.

FFVII did the same thing almost 20 years ago. A lot of the older fans moaned about "doesn't feel like FF" after the commercials hit, but Sony & Squaresoft were drawing in a whole slew of brand new fans to the series.

Um...wow that's pretty epic

And interesting and mysterious.

I love how it feels grounded and foreign at the same time...kinda getting hyped, but man I gotta finish this VR backlog!

Almost all of the reception has been positive going by the comments in this thread.

DIGIC Pictures & Square Enix really did do an amazing job with this trailer.

You can watch it. Some areas from the previous trailers are shown here, but here all is shown through the lens of Noctis's nightmare or some dark prophecy.

[I fully recommend you to watch Kingsglaive, its good].

That was really cool. A bit narratively sparse, but it's a vision or dream or something? Cool.

Didnt feel FF at all for me.
What? really?

Gives me vibes of the very first time I saw the FFVIII opening.

AMEN. I'm talking about FFXV in general here w.r.t. how they modernized the series with this one to get a new generation on board, which is absolutely necessary for the series to stay alive and rejuvenate.

HOLY SHIT. What- I don't- oh my-

Now there's the darkness I've been looking for! Outlook not so bright for
Luna, as expected. But does this mean Noctis might become the villain after all? I was joking when I made that prediction! lol

Damn, that looks great.

Side question, is Kingsglaive worth watching? Haven't played a FF game since 7 so I kinda feel like going in blind would be great. But the reviews for Kingsglaive were not great and I don't know if it's worth it.

Agreed.

I know a lot of people loved the 2013 trailer (which I admit had an epic reveal), but eh . . . Aside from Omen, my favorite trailer would be the 2008 Jump Festa one.

Really impressed with Omen, though. It really makes you wonder.

After watching the trailer I had to gather my jaw from the floor. Amazing! :D I hope this footage or part of this footage or stuff like this in general makes it into the game as well. This was how I want my FFs to be. Amazingly beautiful, imaginative and a little bit WTF?! XD

Oh my God, people need to get over this "doesn't feel Japanese" bullshit of an excuse, the game is definitely trying to include more Western audience into the series, what is the problem with that? Also, I doubt many people understand what OMEN means, the trailer was not at all a spoiler as none of this happens in game. Your job is prevent it from happening.

I enjoyed the trailer, it was well edited and the song fit the dark tone they were going for. I dare to say that this trailer got me even more hyped than any trailer we've seen from Nomura or any FF trailer for that matter, yes, even the reveal one (despite it still being awesome).

Honestly, all we have ever got from XV up to this point were bad trailers, I am glad we managed to get an actually good trailer for once.

YOOOOOOOOOOO

This better some kind of downloadable or on disc little thing to watch when FFXV is out. It just can't be stuck on youtube forever.
