Their response is always "no current plans", but that's the standard Nintendo response so it means squat.
The optimist in me wants to believe the game is being saved for a very late DS release, which will lead the way to FE 3DS.
Is the second DS game substantially better than the first one, or should I not care if we ever get it?
... Okay, that's probably unfair, but it is true that I really didn't like the DS one we got much, in comparison to the others released here... I got it, but didn't even finish it once before going back to the GBA games. I've played both of those over and over, and like the GC/Wii ones a lot too even if I haven't replayed them quite as often as the GBA ones, but still haven't bothered to play much more of the DS one. The graphics are bad, they made some poor design decisions, the story is bad (I know it's a NES game, but the newer ones have such good stories, I can't help but judge it negatively in comparison, to some degree...), etc...
So yeah, this one being a new game, unlike the DS titles, is great news. I really, really hope it comes out here!

There goes another 80 hours of my life.
Only 80, you don't replay the games?

Not well enough to warrant the release of 12.
Maybe Shadow Dragon sold worse than the previous ones, after word of mouth wasn't great?
Just get ready to import. Fire Emblem games are very easy to play with no Japanese knowledge. I got into the series around 1999 and we didn't even have translation patches.
If you don't care about the story or characters, maybe... but while that might be not so bad for the DS remakes, for a new one I'd want to know the story...

And Nephenee annihilates both. Nephenee in my games would never get hit, double every time, and then have criticals here and there. She was an unstoppable killing machine of hhhhhhhhhhhhnnnnnnnnnnnngg!
Bah, Ilyana's better. But then again, mages and flying units are my favorites in FE, not swordfighters (apart from the main characters).
