no robo dat ass

Still shit. Helmet was always the best part, depending on how the translucence works on screen.

lol gaf what a twist! Now the suit is "OK" and even looks "cool"
GAF is so bipolar. love it.

I still don't like it but we'll see where it goes from here.

Amazing.

20 some years later and his ass still looks awkward as hell in the Robo Suit.

I guess it's something wardrobe could never fix.

Curiously this Robocop has kept the same hand that was blown away in the original. I bet he loses it at some point during the movie. :P

Something to do with OCP public relations. His right arm was intentionally left intact.

That is very interesting ... specialy if they go that with the rumors and
end up taking out his arm in the less humanized versions of the suit

A green or blue glove would only be needed if they shoot the movie against a more yellow background ... but considering his suit is black and robocop is a mostly urban movie (gray everywhere) than the hand will already provide enogh contrast on their own in most cases.

I whole heartedly agree, unfortunately.

I think it looks dumb this way, one human hand, and the rest of the body is in the suit. It's just not right.

really? that's a terrible decision.

Don't see why it's such a terrible decision. You kind of have to look back and ask why he still even had a face in the original. They never really explained it and there is virtually no use to use. At least here, it seems, they are trying to explain it by saying it helps to humanize Robocop and make him more relatable to the public.

Why is this movie being remade again?

Shaaat aaap.

lol, the face is enough to "humanize" him. The half human face looks cool, one human hand lools asymmetrical and weird.

Michael Keaton is looking boss.

The back of the suit is pretty cool. The helmet is great. Don't like the legs or feet.

I wonder if he's going to move in a robotic fashion, or more like a human. I'm guessing the latter based on the design of the suit.

What's with the hand? :)
He uses an iPhone instead of a Nokia Lumia so he'd need the hand to be able to use it :)
I am warming up to the suit design. In fact the design always have been just fine, I just wish it wasn't all black. Robocop is associated with silver body armor.

One thing that would be nice is if the black armor paint is stripped away by bullet fire revealing silver underneath just as a wink for fans. Otherwise not bad so far.

I'll wait to see how it looks on screen once they hit it up with all the CG. Iron Man suit looks awful in the guy in suit shots until they cg it all up. Assume they are going to be doing same here with alot of post enhancements to it.

Huh? The practical suit and the CG suit look nearly identical. Even the director couldn't tell the two apart in one test scene.

It looks out of place. that's my main issue with it. he was already humanized with the lower half of his face showing, having one hand is just out of place.

Still looks terrible. Will not look not terrible until it is not black. Hand looks terrible too. Makes it look even more like a suit.

New pictures look better but having the whole suit be shiny like the helmet would make it look awesome. The rubber really doesn't make it look like a robot.

Is there a reason he has a non mechanical hand?

Okay, based on a few different rumors, relatively minor spoiler I guess:

OCP goes through up to four revisions of the suit based on focus group feedback. The suit in these photos may be the 2nd or 3rd suit, where his human hand is preserved so that he can shake hands and look a bit more friendly. Then they say fuck it and chop his remaining arm off, if one plot point is correct. One rumor also claims that the outer shell of his armor reconfigures somewhat depending threat level, making him increasingly robot like and threatening.

Yep. GAF is a monolithic entity.

Would saying "the general consensus on GAF" be alright, or is at still too much of an exaggeration for you?

Stop being difficult. "But GAF told me..." is used in jest more often than not, even if there's an element of truth to it.

lol people who change their mind about things when they see them differently are so stupid huh?

No, but people who make sweeping generalizations based on bad set photos are.

That could be damn cool!

-We were able to save the left arm.

-What? I thought we agreed on total
body prosthesis. Lose the arm, OK?

-Jesus, Morton.

- Can he understand me?

- Doesn't matter. We'll blank his memory.

-I think we should lose the arm.
What do you think, Johnson?

-He signed release forms when
he joined the force. He's legally dead.

-We can do pretty much what we want to.

-Lose the arm.

Wonder how they will play it out in the remake.

Maybe. I really don't care either way. I just like the fact that they are attempting to give it some context.

Not gonna lie... kind of love that.

That would've been fucking terrifying and that scene was already bad enough.

As freaky as that scene was, I always felt that it was one of the better moments in the movie. It was a nice contrast to the "reconstruction of Murphy" scene in the original Robocop where we see him being built from Murphy's point of view. On part two we see him getting deconstructed from his own point of view.

It better sound very similar. The original gun sounded sexy and powerful as hell. I imagine there will be some sort of "pew pew" sound coming out of this one which will piss me the hell off.

Yeah, his gun sounded so badass in the original film:

The movie had pretty good sound design for a film from 1987. Also had the best looking blood squibs on film, at that period too.

But I can kinda see where they are going with the human arm here, but couldn't they at least give him a black glove or something? I still think the red and black colour scheme looks a little cheesy. But script leaks claim that his suit will change during the course of the movie... maybe he will lose his human arm later on and they will build him fully made out of machine parts?

I'm sorry but that Robocop design looks utterly, utterly forgettable.

They took everything that made the original suit so iconic and instead of incorporating that into the new design they threw it out and went for something generic as fuck.

I fear that this will just about sum up tis entire venture. :(

Have there been any script reviews? How is this looking under the hood?

Depending on who you speak to (and someone I know said) it's too light and self referential but with a solid action heavy third act.

Eh. Could go either way.
