With a series that's seen the Ride installments and fucking HD, and you go with Downhill Jam as the franchise killer?

I'm sorry to inform you that THPS2 acts and looks the exact same way. I'm confident that people are just forgetting about it. I still play the game occasionally to this date.

But that's not what happening there, he's jumping while already grinding and then he immediatly drops down with no physics whatsoever into the rail again.Almost every competent player on Youtube shows you that exact thing.
It's an extremely common way to start a grind. You quick jump onto the side of an edge - the jumping animation gets canceled out and you start grinding. It's identical, but perhaps slightly more disorientating in THPS5 because of the higher framerate - which allows us to easier nitpick on animations frame by frame.

It doesn't look really mobile bad like that screenshot showed, just maybe early last gen, better than expected.

> He starts on a rail, he doesn't jump off it. He "falls" down
> He lands on the ramp but he starts using manual (combo is still active)
> He does a slight right-turn and jumps (while still being in manual-effect) and starts grinding immediately
> The entire jump animation gets canceled and he starts grinding along the side of the edge
Which part of this is what's bothering you? Is it the part after the first grind where he almost "teleports" on the platform?
