FitnessGAF: I need an emergency workout

I'm sorry, but the whole point of a fitness test is that you have a discipline of working out. This person isn't disciplined and is trying to "cram" for fitness. Thus, he shouldn't pass the fitness part.

Hate to say it bluntly, but what else is there to say?
Chances are he has known about this for months and has done nothing so far to try to achieve 10 pull ups. He didn't put in the work and deserves to fail. I hope this serves as a wake up call for him if he still wants to be a fireman.

Wow. I'm pretty out of shape and I can do at least 6 consecutively :P

Your friend really didn't think this through. I imagine him kicking back on the couch with his belly out and then lazily glancing over at the calender and noticing the fireman's test is in a couple weeks, causing him to roll off the couch in a frenzy, spilling his bowl of potato chips everywhere.

It's really sad something like this even has to be said.

I really wish we could put an end to the get fit quick mindset people think is reality.

So your friend just now started thinking about training? Yeah, he should probably cancel the exam and reschedule for 6 months-year out after he's serious about it and has trained for it. It is highly, highly doubtful that he can do more than triple the reps he can currently do in under a week. Noob gains, maybe he could do a couple more if he worked hard at it, but going from 3-10 is not possible.

Also, cut off his legs.

Holy shit, just did the conversion from metric.. He's 6'3" and 132 pounds? He should not be a firefighter. His BMI is 16.5, so extremely underweight.

That guys needs to fight sandwiches like his life depends on it, and probably take sketchy supplements on top of that to even stand a chance.

Holy shit you guys telling him to cut off his legs. What's wrong with you!?

Cut off one leg, see if he can do enough pull-ups now, and only cut off the second one if he still can't do it. We could save the man a leg here!

Maybe he could just take some PCP and an adrenaline shot right before the test and be able to do the pull-ups in his drug frenzy. But he might also try to kill everyone there, so it could go poorly. Risk/reward.

You want to teach him either kipping or butterfly pullups. That's what they use in crossfit. I doubt the fireman entrance exam is going to care about form.
