Flower (PSN)

No, that's the first one in the level. The second one is under the bridge to the left of the highway as you first get on it. I need the very last one in that level! I'm guessing it's somewhere up the scaffolding but I can't find it.
It's right before the last part, in a corner, look around... I tried twice to
get the Urban trophy by bringing the whole city back to life
, but I failed, is there a trick to it? I missed some flowers
on the highway and couldn't go back
, is that it?

Oh, and you don't lose control during the "cutscenes", you just slow down and change perspective, but you can keep going.

I didn't know a single thing about this game until today, will definitely be getting this! Haven't bought a PSN game in a while, but first I need to need to download the Firmware update and I have a sloowwww connection.

How large is the game download?

Pretty much. Waggle drives my wrists crazy, I shake them off every few seconds just to keep going... luckily flower gets me in such a zone I tend to not notice.
You must be doing it wrong...cause to use sixaxis, you hardly have to move it. Just lay it flat in your hands and tilt very slightly :)

It is 650mb! PSN is really slow. It took about half hour to download it on a fast connection.

Oh I know. It's just that. Minute movements are the worst. It's not fatigue like I'm flailing about, it's something internal. Happens with Wii, too. Dare I say some pre-Carpal Tunnel, who knows.

Ah well, I suffer for greatness. :P

That was great. Just finished it.

Now, to questions.

About the dark dark level.

What's the deal with the potted flower after you finish this level (the one with all the electric towers)? The potted flower doesn't look good. It's still kind of wilted, although I can continue to the city level. Did I do something wrong? I found one hidden flower in it, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Also, I wonder what all the trophies mean. Like the flOw one....

Just finished it and man what an experience. The last level is just mind boggling. This is just one of those unique moments and experiences in gaming history that you truely cherish. It's times like this that make me feel proud to belong to this industry, proud to be a game developer, and proud to have dedicated my life to this art. Words really can't describe this because if you try, it will just sound boring. It is something that everyone should experience.

Get all 3 leaves and the flowers fully bloom.

Explore Some levels and most of the achievements will make more sense.
;)

I just finished it.

I really love video games. Thanks to the whole team who made this game for reminding me why.

I can't believe how much time i've put into this game today. Very hard to take a break from.

Pure bliss.

Can't wait to go for the "Pure" and "Urban" trophies tomorrow. :D

I just played one 'level' (Plant pot):
Amazing, its so different from anything ive played. I like it a lot
At first the controls were haard but once you understand that the deal is the 'flow' of the wind is mind blowing, the graphics are amaaaazing.
Love it.

I didn't think it was possible to suck at a game such as this, But boy do i suck at it :lol . Level 5 killed me a little on the inside.

level 6 though. Fuck me dead, amazing. It was like watching the ending of 2001 a space odyssey and just sitting there thinking wtf is this .. lets see and do that again!

Just finished the game (with a bit less than half of all the trophies). Pretty good stuff, amazingly beautiful graphics (especially the grass, godDAMN), but I personally don't find it as amazing or 'relaxing' as almost everyone here. /runs

Anyway, I noticed that occasionally I got some very weird sound bug, where it starts looping like a broken record. It often occured near the end of a stage, and it was pretty damn annoying (it also worried me a bit, wtf). Anyone else got it? :S

No I didn't have that issue. Are you using HDMI or Optical or analog?

I am using optical.

Connection would have nothing to do with it. I got the same bug too once and I'm going through HDMI. It's clearly a bug n the game not the connection

Same thing happened here. The "hand drawn" cutscenes were skippy too.

WOW :lol I left the menu up after getting 3 hidden flowers in level one and after 5 minutes an alarm goes off in the room and someone angrily turns it off :lol This is such a phenominal game, I think I underpaid at £7. This is a hundred times better than the shit i've bought on XBLA.

Wow, you havent lived if you havent played flower.

this game will most likely be the game i remember the ps3 for.

on a more negative note, did this game skip for anyone else? i got the stock 40gb hdd with 2 speaker setup through hdmi via my tv. (edit: read few posts above)

All these positive reviews have convinced me to get this game. Didn't really like flow that much so I hope this game is better. I want to support games like these.

Don't let me down gaf.

I also had that audio glitch a couple times. The skipping was most apparent during the end scene from level 6. It wasn't too bad, but it did take me out of the game a little. Hopefully a simple patch can fix it, because the OST is beautiful.

Sitting here at work, i can't wait to get back to Flower. Long time since i had this feeling. I only played the first level so far.

It seems there was a theme released on the us store, so looking forward to this aswell.

I played Flow once. It was enough. The difference between the two...

Flow = "Let's play with microorganisms." *puts on lab coat
Flower = "WHEEEE! I AM THE WIIIIIINNNNNNNDDD!" *runs around a field with arms extended

Yeah, had that too, in the last level particularly. Glad I'm not the only one with this, thought it might be a problem on my end. :o

To all those on the fence, I'd just say go for it, it's really really worth it.

But this is why PSN needs mandatory demos. Haven't seen anyone with a negative reaction yet. Just the first two sections of the first level should be enough to convince anyone to get this. :D

Oh, and you don't lose control during the "cutscenes", you just slow down and change perspective, but you can keep going.
You mean before you
go up the scaffolding tree? Down at the base where there is still grass?

You can go back on the highway by taking another route. You can actually go back to the highway as many times as you need! I got the trophy for bringing the city back. I made sure that every piece of grass was brought back to color instead of being dark and I made sure that I broke very single thing I found. That's the only advice I can give you.

The onesided impressions, especially here on gaf, are really heartwarming! Who's up to Flowerize his/her avatar? I'll do it if I had any PS skills.

is there a trophy guide? I beat the game with just 2 trophies
There are like 90% of the trophies explained in this very thread. :p

If you have a specific question towards a trophy, just ask. Jim already has 100%.
And anyone who bought it yesterday and has 100% already is a dirty cheater. You know which trophy I'm talking about, guys.
:D

I actually wanted to but couldn't find a good screenshot of a single flower with stem. :(

Does it actually work? I was tempted to try it myself. :p
yep, works great. It dont even has an online timecheck or so, just change the date and boot it up
:D

Playing second time through is as good as the first.

Gives the same feeling on replay..and I'm finding lots of flowers I missed the first time. It also perhaps, in some ways, feels even better because I feel like I've much better control now.. playing the first level again, with a more accomplished touch, is joyous.

Maaaan, you rock! Can't upload to photobucket from work so I sent it via email to my private adress. THANK YOU!

EDIT : The old version of photobucket's uploader worked like a charm!

Oh neat. I found the last green flower in the last level.
(It was behind the second wind turbine in the grass. After the highway but before you leave the grass for the scaffolding that goes up into the air.)
It's really neat now because
the background has all changed and it's a serene country scene with big open doors instead of the city window. I like this scene a lot better.

I'm not going to cheat to get my last bronze trophy, I'll just
set the game down for a week
and replay it again straight through. That way I can get the 10,000 flowers trophy then and I'll get to play the game through again. What a fun little game!

WOW, this is the most gorgeous and tranquil game I have ever played, it's moments like these that make me really glad I have a PS3, there aren't many of those moments for me but ones like this more than make up for it. :D

Hehe. Yeah, I'm sorta in the same boat. I thought Cloud n fl0w were amusing forays, and they obviously informed flower's development a great deal. But this seems like the game they were building towards. Not just from a raw audio/visual standpoint, their definition of style and control of tone have equally evolved.

Ehh, it was just a silly compliment to TGC (I put Ueda's crew in pretty rarified air fwiw ;). I wasn't declaring a fucking joust.

I'm up to some flowerizing if some one can do my avatar... It's a tough one, i know :(

Ah, I'm in the same position, can't wait to get home. I beat the game yesterday but I want to get back to some levels. I suspect the last level of the game will be something I'll get back to many more times, from time to time I will want to experience that again. I'm so in love with videogames right now.

I hope there is an addon coming like for flOw, like the random screenshot taking thing, or maybe a field full with snow and you are a fireflower and you have to melt down everything to make it bloom
