Because they were too big to fail and doing black guys is seen as extreme as double penetration but just below hardcore bondage.

You won't see an up and comer with a big agency that is believed to have a bright future in too many interracial scenes unless its something that they directly push for as an individual.

Also, some of the best performers I've ever seen never did IR. And its a shame. Keri Sable, Kayden Kross, Luna Lane, Jenni Lee, Kasey Chase... But the industry is a mirror image of its market.

The "condom law" isn't going into effect until 2015. And even when it does, it's damn near unenforceable, as they have to catch them on set without a condom (which will only happen if someone on set reports it), and they have to get a warrant to be able to enter the set. And the police department isn't going to have any money to hire new people to enforce it, because a judge struck down the part of the provision that allowed them to charge people more for adult shooting permits to help with enforcement.

Except for Speigler (the agent mentioned in the article). About 80% of the girls he reps do IR, and do it fairly frequently. In fact, two of the newest girls he reps (Riley Reid and Maddy O'Reilly) only started doing IR after he started repping them.

That's kind of in a vacuum though. Back when Speigler thought that Casey Calvert was going to be the next Sasha Grey (lol), they were very 'vocal' about her not starting off with IR - and its been their practice for just about all of their people. Its extremely rare for a girl in any large, renown agency to lead off their careers with IR. Maddy O'Reilly and Riley Reid are both past their peak too. Its not really hurting their potential earnings anymore.

You MIGHT get me to agree that Riley is past her peak, but Maddy isn't. I would argue that right now IS Maddy's peak, and she just reached it.

Edit: And some girls (not many, but some) hold out on IR not because they think it will hurt their career, but because they are waiting for that big payday (or that 5 scene Elegant Angel/Jules Jordan/some other large company DVD all about them). It's less common than holding out on anal for that reason, but it does still happen.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that it doesn't work, but it's getting harder and harder to get to that top level of popularity without doing it. But if you can get there and still have that cherry to pop, figuratively speaking, then there's a lot of money on the table for you.

Edit: For example, you can't tell me that Mia Malkova won't be able to pull five figures for her first anal scene when she does it.
