As someone who's followed the Vita hacking scenes (don't jump on me, I'm just curious), the storage media actually takes part in making it hard to access the firmware, so they have to use all those exploit from PSN games (which were taken down as fast as Sony can) to utilize homebrew.

I wonder why SONY even bothered making the PS4 Eye anyways, if its not bundled its just a waste of $$ to even make yet alone develop for.

Together with the open-ness for indie, it actually benefits thing like the PS4 Eye, so I think they expect the indie scenes will push the motion feature.

That's how you give consumer choice.

Just the fact that the PS4 will have Twitch.TV/Ustream integration & video party chat is possible is good enough reason for Sony to have a camera for the PS4.
