Forza 5 Xbox One to use "infinite power of the cloud"

Some alien race is going to come across all this online chatter and think that our clouds hold infinite power. They will invade and steal all our clouds. :/

So is it going to look better than DriveClub or what?

Looks like crap without clouds.

Their whole 'infinite power of the cloud' thing actually makes me angry, which is weird as I'm generally not too bothered by this sort of stuff.

It just reeks of the worst sort of PR bullshit.

I can't wait until they actually explain how this infinite power will manifest itself in-game.

Well at least we now all have the answer to the age old question. Da infinite powerz is 40x the X360. Thank you Microsoft.

OMG, if GT6 turns out to be a better looking game than FM5, I don't think GAF won't be able to handle the implosion that would ensue lol...... ):

So basically, XBone is time proof? I mean they can just harness the power of the cloud to add better graphics? I'm sold Microsoft!

Someone please make an image:

panel 1: graphics with the clouds
panel 2: there has been a problem with your connection the game is now in offline mode
panel 3: dem offline graphics

I'm wondering how the average viewer can judge whether an amazing looking product (through the power of the cloud) is attainable at home. Surely there'll be cries of "fake!"

That's just it. It's possible they're worked out some feature that really is cool which utilizes Cloud computing to boost game features/experiences. But they didn't show or explain that. They just claimed "we have it." That's a frustrating communication.

It questions the intelligence of the audience. At BEST you could call it a "tease" until they show it off at E3. I don't respond well to that kind of advertising.

They should have just put 256mb of RAM and a Pentium II in there and used more cloud power. I mean, if the cloud has infinite power, then the console doesn't need any, amirite.

With infinite power you could rip a hole in time/space. Microsoft will go back and replace the original Xbox with this one.

Hence the name: XBOX ONE.

It is the first and the last. The Alpha and the Omega.

That's why its industrial design is retro.

And why they didn't put Xbox One on the box!

At this point, the cloud stuff really, REALLY needs clarifying by MS. As in, last week at the sodding conference.

They've said constant online won't be required, more so a 24hour-ish one off validation. So how can they produce games making the assumption people will be fine for a constant connection that this 'infinite cloud' shenanigans will surely require? They are segmenting their audience before they've began, even for those who concede and buy into/accept the validation DRM.

And surely the 'cloud' connection for games will require mandatory connection via XBLive which automatically means you have to pay subs?!?

I cannot believe MS will not field questions about this and just say 'shhhh later'.

Well exactly, F5 showed in-engine pre-rendered footage whereas Driveclub was actual gameplay (for a while)

If footage is in-engine, then by definition that's real-time. Pre-rendered isn't even in the same category. We'll have a better sense when we see more at E3, but we know that the footage was claimed to be running on dev-kit XB1 hardware.

I think MS won me on this cloud thing. I really have no idea what it is but it seems I start to believe all games will look better and run with extra physics as long as I'm playing online. And as long as they keep updating the servers (maybe a million of them in 2020?) Xbone will never stop evolving...It's the only "One" console I will ever need in my life...

I'm so easily cheated....

BTW isn't US one of the worst internet infrastructure countries on the earth? Like many US people still are using DSL.....If Samsung is making a Korea only console featuring cloud I can understand...but MS and US?
