Forza: Deep South Concept Art May Hint at Horizon Sequel

Concept art for what may be Forza Horizon 2 has appeared on an artist's personal page.

Sumeet Surve, an artist at an Indian production house called Dhurva Interactive, shared two images titled "Forza Deep South," each featuring vehicles speeding through what appears to be the American Bayou in Louisiana. It's unclear if Deep South is simply the title of the pieces, or the subtitle for a new Forza game.

We've contacted Surve for comment on his art. Microsoft told IGN, “We do not comment on rumor or speculation.”

Dhruva Interactive worked on both Forza Horizon, Forza Motorsport 4, and other Forza titles with Turn10 Studios, creating vehicles and other art assets.

Forza Horizon was developed by Playground Studios, a UK team that set its open world racing game in Colorado. A sequel in the American South is plausible. On LinkedIn, numerous Playground team members claim to be "Currently working on an exciting unannounced title for Xbox One."

Artist Simon Gibson says he's "Responsible for overseeing the internal and external (outsource) production of all vehicles for for the project." It's not an outright connection to Dhruva Interactive, but it's a logical, possible link.

Damn it. :( Deep Southern California? :D

I want the next Horizon game to be in a pretty place, like Northern California or any part of Utah. Or Washington.

EDIT: Actually, that place isn't that bad, going by the concept art. What I really want, beyond all else, is a more natural place. Forests, mountains, nature everywhere. Lousiana fits the bill I guess.
 
Was Horizon a good game? I loved Forza 3 and 4 but was so afraid to ever pick up Horizon at the store. It didn't look like the same game on the outside
 
I hope the world will be even more alive in the next Horizon.
More secret roads would also be welcome. And Maybe a bit destruction of the environment.
 
I'm bored of the USA over featuring in video games, especially racing games. So many better places to choose from that would make a welcome change. Please <3

Horizon was an amazing game.

As for this news, consider me hyped as hell. Hope we get we drive through some swamp lands complete with wildlife like crocs, etc.

The best open world racer imho, by a mile, and I'm a ginormous fan of Burnout Paradise. Also my easy GOTY for 2012.

This is the one game that could get me to buy an Xbone, if they don't fuck it up.

Edit** The fact that there is a BARN in one image is a HUGE plus to it being something for Horizon. (Those who played would recognize that)
 
Might get an xbone for this. Don't need "sims" on my console, as I really like to play iRacing when I am in the mood. GT5 was really good online with the right people though.
 
I really wanted the next Forza Horizon game to be based in the South of France, Monte Carlo or Ibiza. The first Forza Horizon was travelporn for me.

Yeah, I don't think I'm going to get a XB1 until F6 or FH2. I'm looking forward to what they do for those two games.

I give them a pass on F5 because launch games are always compromised.
 
I'm shocked Sony isn't working on their own version of an open world cruising game. If it had Gran Turismo's physics and a world as beautiful as the PS4 is capable of, it'd be stellar.

Props to MS for pushing unique games onto their system. I'm not going to buy one, but it's making me wonder what's going on in Sony's camp.
 
Forza Horizon is the best Forza game. i said it.
i literally cannot give microsoft my money fast enough for a sequel.

Way to skip Oregon, dick. >:( Oregon > Washington and most of Northern California for driving especially along highway 101.

The Deep South has plenty of pretty places though. Georgia comes to mind.
 
Crazy coincidence that this and Mafia 3 could be set in the Deep South, especially as I don't know of any games being set there previously. I'm looking forward to how the setting influences the music, as well as the cars of course.
 
After the first game, any location will do!

Only reason I would potentially rebuy an Xbox One (at a reasonable price) is a sequel to Horizon so I personally can't wait.

Still need to play FORZA 5 (no Xbox One in here) and another Horizon would be great to have. Played so much Horizon back in the day, even got the Rally DLC, good times. :)

But thinking about it... hey yeah this would actually work great!

ARRRGGH, I just can't wait till the sequel to my favorite racing game of all time!!

Oo, I could go for Washington state. And I doubt Microsoft would be adverse to that, I mean, seeing as how that's where they're located.

Though I:SS is in Seattle, so maybe they might wanna wait till a third one.

Then they could go to a bunch of other crazy places, like Europe, Africa and such.

Where do you live?

I've always liked it when games go where I don't live. I don't in Colorado or the deep south. Washington would be great. So would Africa some place. All of those I don't live in. I mean, that's partially why I play video games, to go places I can't normally.

Plus Deep south just screams atmosphere, which I think was one of the original's strong points.
