Forza Horizon 6 |OT| Tōge Drift

Has anyone been able to get 3 stars on the horizon festival peer pressure event? Because motherfucker I can't get below 4:04. The two people I happen to follow, including Jeff Gerstmann, neither one of them got below the 4 minute mark for 3 stars
You can always use rewind to perfect taking corners and prevent losing too much speed, you won't get any penalty for that.

Personally I love these time trials instead of rigged showcases where it only matters if you've made any mistakes near the finish.

What happens if you change the settings so the car drives automatically?!

Try to take those 90-180 degrees corners as fast as possible without drifting, follow the braking line.

I don't know how, but I guess your advice clicked in my head and I did it after a couple more attempts 👍

Do barn finds open as the story progresses? I've got one on my map and I've driven round like a bastard in the purple circle but there is nothing there that resembles a barn.

Just up and to the left of Mei's house.

They do unlock as you progress the Discover Japan collection, there are usually 2 new barns to find per level of new colored stamps you reach

I am so horrible at drifting, I just have never gotten the hang of it and I get frustrated and rage quit to go do something else :)
Oh I feel you, truth be told the car is VERY important. For example I struggled to even get 3 stars with another car, I took the Ferrari and it was a game changer.
Try the Ferrari I took it's glorious for drifting, use the same setting as me (it's the second or third one on the settings menu) and give it a try, you might be surprised!

Practice for a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the car and I'm sure you'll do very well.

Lol, glad to see I'm not the only one who had this much trouble with that particular event.

Finished the Drift storyline last night. I was trying to 'cheese' drift points first by slow deliberate drifting, but learned that if you go a bit faster and drift around turns, you can get a lot of points very fast.

But it was definitely a learning process.

Make sure whatever youre driving has drift wheels on

I got the FE Ford drift car in a wheelspin and its been a great help, Im terrible at drifting usually

So no "The Trial" so far? Ironically that was the main thing that kept me playing FH5 weekly.
I believe they said that comes in the next event.

The Trial is going to require players to have access to the legend island or something like that, so the devs said they are waiting until the next event, so players do not feel like that have to rush to complete the main campaign.

Is the Legend Island displaying on your map before you unlock it or is it hidden ?
Now that I unlocked it i don't remember if it was, lol.

It's always there, I tried to drive to it a few times but both the north and south entrances are locked until you can get there via story progression.

I actually thought first that they've just carved a separate area for DLC stuff to be announced soon. But, no it's in the game .. you just can't access it until a certain point.

Game changer

My shitty luck with the spins continues, at most I get 5000 credit, a fucking car horn or a shitty car.

I'm staying at my girfriends in Wales this weekend and the weather is glorious. I won't get to play this weekend but I did drive to hers in my JDM imported 2004 Subaru legacy spec b twinscroll that I've done a full stroker engine rebuild on.

What a drive I've just finished 😂

Still wanna play though.

I'm laughing, but also hoping Karma doesn't hit me too hard for lol'ing.
I have yet to start the game, but will do so this weekend.

I'm probably better off upgrading to Premium right away to get the VIP pass, right?

It's double credits from races? I'd be missing out on a bunch of credits if I end up playing this for 50+ hours without VIP.

It also seems like a better deal to get Premium rather than buying VIP separately.

They absolutely cooked with the Tokyo City map. So much variety and depth, and I haven't even explored all of it yet. Feels like a proper city.

So got serious about drifting and it is indeed all about the car and have gotten 3 stars on everything except the hakone nanamagari drift zone that requires 340k points

Whatever dev put this into the game I hope you have to sleep on a bed of legos for the rest of your days

How do they keep people "engaged" with this game? I'm guessing there are events, races, etc. but what else?

Just curious to see the player drop rate compared to other games overall

I think my early impressions of the game are that I feel there is more "structure" to the game, than part 5, in terms of ok you been through the qualifiers, now you jump into a Shogun and go for a leisurely cruise with your tour guide, before things ramp up in a performance SUV...never had that in the previous game...and "ANNA" is more prominent than before in terms of guiding you along...

Playground has listed some talked about issues they're looking into for updates.

The blog post today talks about the following issues
  • Drivatar Difficulty
  • Framerates on AMD GPUs
  • Audio Crackling on PC
  • Crashes and Invalid Loading Errors on PC
The studio gave the following statement on the Drivatar Difficulties, which can feel imbalanced for some at higher settings:

"We've heard from you that sometimes our AI opponents are too fast to compete with, especially at higher difficulty levels. As we investigate, we will monitor your feedback and review our data, coming back to you with an update once we have something concrete to share."
