Frog Factions 2 ARG - Hop on in, the water's murky

8bit

Knows the Score
I've just been reading about it on toucharcade where they think it could be hiding something bigger and their forums have discovered some of the secrets. Not convinced it's related to FF2 either, mostly curious why it's listed as an 'assignment' in that screenshot above.
And does the game really have a picture of a frog in it?

Not sure it is FF2, but it seems to have it's own oddities.

what is this then..?

Dunno, I can't seem to find any balance game in it. Turning the phone upside down inverts the background, shaking changes the colours. I haven't found anything else.

Ah there's the frog, thanks. I think the post I saw saying it looked like the FF title screen was stretching a little.

Is that Korean?

It looks like it, it's from the company page demonstrating internationalisation options.

aztek is ok

Where did these URLS come from?

Has anyone tried entering the adventure game text from the bread webpage into the Frog Fractions text adventure level?

edit: A lot of this twinbread stuff is very old. Typing MAKE BREAD in Frog Fractions leads to: http://abeardforevervoyaging.com/leadership.html

Here is the old thread discussing it. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=782280&page=2

I'm just going to keep my head in the sand until there's a definite frog fractions 2. All this false hope hurts.

Today on the decaytruth.info website, on the BEER 101 page the text changed to 'Hops marley malt yeast AND WATER.'

Just thought I'd mention.

Ummm, that was me. :p
It's one of the things I changed while in admin mode, to test how and if it works. The other things were obvious and they changed it back, but they didn't catch that. So it really looks like it was just an accident and they hastily changed it back manually.

BTW, the log-in-site is still accessible at
http://decaytruth.info/admin.php
But the password/name is changed.
And no, it's not adminn or adminnn, I tried.

Oh, the pi symbol returned and the text changed from

to

They noticed.

Can't see the pi symbol but there is what looks like an MD5 hash in the source code of every page now:

Code:
<!-- eb40be3efc48ad8ae9adb4f3174ce39c -->

Edit: unrelated to the arg but this was a coincidence and a half, haha:

That whole admin stuff seems like a massive oversite when you are hinting at a possible ARG and weird website to a bunch of crazy ARG detective people. Like, of course people will find the one page with a weird button that asks you to log in and of course they will get in eventually.

Always carefully check your ARG websites.

That movie The Net with Sandra Bullock had a part where she found a website with the pi symbol in the corner, and it took her to a secret page.

Gah. I found that Pi Symbol back when no one was looking and I don't think anyone knew the password. But now I can't find it...

Has someone translated the Korean before? A quick google translate give me: "The game ends when there are no longer divided in blocks. There is no time limit, set up a division plan well look at my high scores" Not sure if it's helpful. I can get a native speaker translation later if it's useful for anything.

Seems like the site was updated as I was messing with it.

The hash in the source went from f935173a9eaccf7a6ca3ac416a462b4b to 502ad1a92a112a3b0d5448ef2af067c9.

Not sure what all changed, but I did notice one thing with the behavior on the admin login page. Before if always just said "Bad Login" when you tried to enter something, but now if you enter the same username and password it displays your string with a question mark.

I just noticed that the string changed as well. Not sure what triggered it but I did click a link to visit the site right before I noticed the change instead of directly accessing it from my address bar.

Deleting the cookie that the site sets also does not seem to do anything.

<big><big>?</big></big>

this was added

I also tried typing in "2" in both fields and it returned the value "2?"

Oh, it seems each page has a different hash now? I don't think it did that earlier.

lol I never noticed that,.,..

it doesn´t do that with admin though. it just says bad login. edit.. it does.. what.. I just had bad login before..
If you enter the same thing as the username and password it returns that as the error message with a '?' appended.

Otherwise, if you enter the username/password it returns "bad login".

there is also this

http://trainhotdog.wikia.com/wiki/Decay_Truth

I wonder if this stuff was supposed to go live at a later date or something. The pi symbol being pulled is kind of weird. But then again the decay site was changed over the last day. Does anyone know the URL to the pi symbol?

However, this could be a clue "Daily 9 Am to 9:00 Pm". I've seen the site and hashes change randomly.

I saw someone on another forum mention that the hashes in the HTML comments were changing based on IP address. So, I figured that the hash was the IP address plus some other string concatenated. I wrote some brute forcing code using the hashes I was getting and my IP address and I actually found some matches.

For me at least, each page's hash is being calculated as the MD5 of my IP address concatenated with a single character.

Here are the matches I found for each page:

Index: MD5(IP + 1)
Hours: MD5(IP + 2)
About: MD5(IP + b)
Menu: MD5(IP + z)
Beer: MD5(IP + a)
Privacy: MD5(IP + y)
Admin: MD5(IP + x)

Can somebody else confirm that the hashes you're seeing match this pattern?

So all the extra letters are:
12bzayx

Maybe these can be unscrambled for the username and/or password?
