Another for 'never had this issue'. Bought two Xbox One consoles on launch, they've been used in 3 different postcodes, but I've never had any of the 6 controllers used with them disconnect unless the battery ran out.
I was having this issue with a controller for a couple months after the console came out, I eventually got a replacement and that was doing the exact same thing. It wasn't until I moved that the issues stopped entirely, so I honestly think that there was some kind of interference issue at work in my case. I have a Netgear N7000 Nighthawk router and every wifi enabled console hooked up (both then and now) and the only difference in my setup is my routers location. I used to have the router directly behind the xbox (behind a wall) and now it is ~17' away and above it with absolutely no controller disconnects unless the battery dies. I would recommend you try moving your router if you have wifi :/
With which update? The one from the last few months or the "Titanfall" update?Sorry if I was unclear with my response, but I've done that. Support had me double-check, too.
My controllers do not disconnect. Ever. Unless the battery dies.
How widespread is this, really?
Your modem or your wifi access point / router? Thanks for the tip
My modem is set up quite a ways away from the console.
It happens to me, Day One console and controller. Happened from the start and no firmware updates have improved things.
It can happen 3 times in a few hours, or never for a few days. It's completely random.
At least with the latest update, the controller would sync quicker.

My cable modem sits right beside the xbox one but my (wifi) router resides some meters away...

I can't turn the console on with the controller half the time. I end up either yelling at kinect for 5 minutes or getting up turning it on.
Isn't this some kind of issue with interference from other wireless devices or something?
I have the sunset overdrive white console and even bought a new controller to go with it and neither will sync to my Xbox. I am gonna box up and ship out my console later today, hope the repair has a quick turnaround time. This also happens to me, from my understanding it only affects people who got launch/early XO's.
I never had issues until the first controller update, first controller update botched it, must have been something on the original firmware vs updated firmware

I've gone through 4 controllers and 4 consoles, and haven't been able to shake this issue. I can't think of any interfering devices, though, because I'm the only tech-knowledgeable person here and our place is really low-tech/separated from the neighbours'.
This pretty much means you have the worst hardware/software versioning luck, or you have environmental issues causing this. Which really fucking sucks. And old ex-girlfriend of mine lived in an apartment that for some reason fucked up all 360 controllers. We eventually figured out some dude living in the building was running a lab of 802.11 devices for fun, shitting up the whole spectrum for everyone in the building. Her next place, had terrible cable. She had no luck.
