Fuck it, I just bought it. The trip down there would've costed similar to the extra $26.60.
But they wouldn't have got that money. You could have STUCK IT TO THEM MAN.

I'm getting tickets to a $20 show for next week. There's a $10.20 service fee plus a $5 fee for ordering online. I don't dare risk the show being sold out, so I'm going to have to drive to the only TM store in town to save the online fee. Ugh.
Yeah, but that's like an 2/3 hours down the drain :/. I stick it to the man next time I guess.

complaining about the fees but still paying them?
you're doing it wrong....
Man, price (time and parking too) wise, I made out as best I could. If I lived closer to Philly, I would have made the drive. I'm really fucking angry about it though, but I had to swallow their dirty yellowy jizz this time.
How do they justify a fee for PRINTING YOUR OWN TICKETS??
Its mind boggling
They don't charge for mailing them to me.. but they charge for me printing them? WHY!?
Wait, this is actually true? I thought it was satire

Cot damn, op, way to complain about something and then buckle in 10 mins.

What band?
Yes there fees blow, but what are you going to do? Its the cost of Ticketmaster doing business
You just "feel" screwed because the tickets are listed that way. What Ticketmaster should do is list one price with everything included and no one would bitch. Showing the lower price less the fees, is a shitty way for the Venue, Artist, and Ticketmaster to show bogus pricing.
Often times you don't have a choice. If I'm going to take a day off of work and drive 5 hours for a show, I'd rather pay the $10 in stupid fees than risk a trip for nothing. It's bullshit, but that's what I have to do.complaining about the fees but still paying them?

Go to order 2 XX tickets.
$30 at the door in Philly. Online, it's an extra $10, per ticket, for who knows what the fuck, then at checkout another $5 for "processing". Philly is about 50 minutes away, and I'm seriously tempted to just drive there instead of swallowing this bullshit.
The wort thing I saw recently was when looking at tickets for two different shows at the same venue that were a day apart, one had a fee of 6.50 and the other had a fee of 11.50. Now how does that make sense?
It's going to take government regulation to get it to stop.
Not all of it is Ticketmaster. I bet in person that $30 ticket is at least $35. Ticketing has went from advertising all in pricing to advertising fake prices that don't include unavoidable fees.
Instead of raising ticket prices to account for increased expenses, the ticket prices stay the same and the fees keep going up and up. They still want to advertise "Tickets start at $30" even though they don't.
Where I work, it started at just an extra $1 or $2 and now it's regularly $6/$7 on top of the advertised pricing. I hate it because I have to hear people complain about it every day. And they're right it's ridiculous but there's nothing I can do about it. I just tell them I agree and would prefer advertised prices include all unavoidable fees but at the end of the day you just need to decide if the price including all fees is something you're willing to pay or not.

Well yeah, if they sold out I would die.
I am ashamed of myself.
Damn you The XX!
The XX
Alas, no facebook or twitter, only a neogaf account.
So what you're saying is it's not going to stop.

What happened? I was looking for tickets for his solo tour earlier this year but lost enthusiasm when I saw that you had to either go through Ticketmaster or a paid fan club for (presumably) the good seats.Pearl Jam tried fighting Ticketmaster back in the 90s and it nearly destroyed their careers.
Well here in Canada, airlines will be required to advertise prices including all fees in a couple years. Also, they actually fined a couple of telecoms for advertising like this:
Home phone from $19.99/month*
*plus system access fee, modem fee, 911 fee, hearing impaired fee, regulatory fee... Total cost per month $32.77+tax
So I have hope that it will happen at some point.
That doesn't even make any sense. The tickets are already paid for. They lose nothing by helping this person.I once had a temp job at this company, posted on GAF about it a while back.
They refused to refund tickets to customers dying of cancer. They wouldn't even allow them to transfer ownership of the tickets (terms were final: either the customer - dying in a hospice - collects the tickets with their credit card and identification, or no one does).
Fucking hate them.
The one show is hiding $5 of the ticket price in the service charge.
