It's not a public giveaway. That is the thing. I had 3 public giveaways, and then decided the 4th one would be for you guys. So I made a group giveaway, only shared the link in hidden form here, and included instructions in the giveaway description. I didn't expect there to either be a) so many random ass people in the neogaf steam group or b) so many people to jump on my profile to check any groups I belong to for additional giveaways beyond the ones I made public.
Argue what you want about what CAN be done and the necessary procedures to prevent it from happening; every last one of these people are still assholes for trying for something that I specifically stated they will not get. The three public giveaways were for them. This one is not for them and will not go to any of them.
Now, this third guy is polish and so are all his friends. I'm not saying that no polish people can speak and post in english, and thus on this forum, but so far my experience with foreigners on steamgifts has not been positive. He also seems to only play TF2. Steam won't let me message him in any way without friending him first, so we'll wait a while to see if he actually is a poster here, and if he isn't, fuck it. I'll just have the giveaway deleted and do a fully private one.

Group giveaways show up as long as you are in the Steam group. Since the NeoGAF Steam group is public, anybody can join and see the group giveaways. Hiding the link here doesn't really make a difference with public group giveaways. There are people on steamgifts with hundreds of groups.
Hiding private links here with the stipulation that you will confirm that they are actually members here would work much better.

AFAIK you can only pick "hidden" or "group", not both. I thought you could do both but maybe they changed it. I did a group giveaway once or twice to NeoGAF and didn't even hear back from the winners so chances are they were probably just non-GAF leechers. This was before re-rolls were able to be done so easily.

Yeah someone on the forums there was suggesting having a entry limit for each day (on just public giveaways) so people will actually enter things they are interested and not just anything. That way people will have more of a chance at winning.
Pretty much every single person there blasted him for it but I think it's a decent idea.
