I’ll destroy anyone at Uno.

Just saying.
lol I saw that and told my wife she is frothing at the mouth she is a master uno player.

she wanted a switch lite when it came out too because it was “turquoise” and pretty and said she wanted to try all these games... she uses it to play uno...

Can’t be worse than me though I have almost 300 hours in Switch Fortnite because it groups you with mobile users and other switch users so no one can really build and you can actually win and feel good about yourself.

I tried to play on PC once after a win and died within seconds to someone to build a tower within 2.5 seconds.

lol my mates and my brother from across the country enjoy it too so it’s a good way for us to connect and the new season started yesterday. My preferred switch shooter is splatoon still love ranked matches to this day, I also play a lot of multiplayer dead by daylight on switch.. what a good system.

Though I’ve been trying to set multiplayer games aside to get through all of these RPGs. Have you played Octopath yet I didn’t see it on your history ?

No. I downloaded the demo, but never played it. I was all set on buying it, but then I got put off by people saying it doesn’t have much of a story. It’s $89.99 here and I think that’s a bit much for a thin story. Might pick it up on a sale, though.

The chillness of the Switch version is an odd accidental feature. Even with skill based matchmaking introduced across all versions, it’s still more laid back, which pairs really well with the handheld nature, imo. It’s where I go when I want to play Fort, but not be ultra competitive about it.

Season 2 is absolutely fantastic, but maybe that’s a story best served for the OT.

Meh, I like to think we have a small community in this thread we can chat about whatever pertaining to the switch and what we play. I haven't actually played any matches in season 2 yet. Are there any big changes? I just bought the battle pass and logged off. I want the deadpool skin.

Wasn’t this rumored to be coming out early in this year? This could be a good sign of that.
Yeah this usually means the game is almost done. I would guess Q3 earliest.

Tons. Five new PoIs (all fantastic) from a yacht to an oil rig, and lots of landmarks. All of them are patrolled by A.I. NPCs with Metal Gear Solid-lite stealth gameplay right down to the cardboard box and disguises, and it even has a cool feature of holding an enemy in front of a facial scanner to get into certain locked chests and doors.

With real players also landing there in absurd quantities, why take the chance? Each location has a boss carrying a mythic weapon, the only one of its kind in the entire game, which is ultra-powerful. In addition, if you can hunt down a keycard, you can open up a massive bank vault with the most absurd amount of loot ever seen in the game, and NPCs drop weapons that aren’t anywhere else in the game.

It’s so much fun, there’s a bunch more, and it’s that classic Fortnite vibe of feeling like you just stepped into a whole new game when the season changes over.

Darkwood is on sale.. for those that haven't played it get it. It's great. A little challenging.

Who wants to get destroyed in Mario Tennis? I need to warm up though. I’m rusty

I don't own it sorry man! I might pick it up this weekend though just to get wrecked by you.

Let me get it try first before I get embarrassed by a champion...lol
You want me to make me cry.
Oh hell no, I don't want you to hate the game xD

I love Mario Tennis since it released for the first time and Aces is just phenomenal

Sadly the online is dead but thats Nintendo, I don't remember any game staying alive online for a long time

I’ll be honest, I downloaded the Mario Tennis demo and found it really complicated. So many different controls to remember for the special moves. It scared me off of buying it. I’m sure, with dedication it is doable, but I wasn’t ready for the commitment at the time, lol.

It's pretty easy to get the hang of, but there's a surprising level of depth. I'm not that great at it, but it's a lot of fun

I had no idea Fortnite on Switch only matched you with Mobile and Switch users. After only playing the PC and XB1 versions, I've become the Fallon Fox of Fortnite
I know that used to be the case, but I believe that changed last season. By the end of Chapter 2 Season 1, I got all the way up to level 402, and at that point I was sometimes fighting against people doing build battle maneuvers that are seemingly flat out impossible with a controller...especially on Switch or Mobile. :lollipop_downcast_sweat:

Speaking of which, I've burned through three Pro Controllers on the Switch, mostly playing Fortnite. If anyone wants to save their Pro Controllers from the literal grind their control stick design goes through with extended play, I highly recommend buying some of this and wrapping some around the sticks underneath the thumbpad. It'll save you having to buy another controller far too soon.

This is still such a mess though. It feels like the kid eating crayons has graduated to just jamming them up his nose, and we’re supposed to offer congratulations.

This... isn’t a competitive game. I just don’t see the problem with giving people ownership over their data, unless there’s going to be some kind of marketplace where players can sell items to each other for in-game currency. Even then, games of that nature, or competitively played ones manage fine on other platforms.

If an individual wants to ruin the experience for themselves, and clone items with save scumming, let them. Better than ruining it for all of us?

I'm going to fuck your island up. Have they killed off Isabel? Because if not, she's the first to go when I visit.

Didn't know the use of the name Monkey granted additional music during the save select screen (found out the Zelda one before it was widely known, being familiar with the second quest trick of the NES game).

Hopefully Nintendo has some solution relatively quickly. The no cloud saves was one thing, but not being able to even transfer the save is just odd. As others have mentioned, Animal Crossing isn’t a competitive game. Why is Animal Crossing so special? Maybe they’re worried about hacked islands and exploits? I don’t know.
I just want you o be able to move my island between my Switches.

Bought the Nyko power shell case, which is a case with built in battery. It holds up to 12 games and is very sturdy and good looking. It also has a really good kickstand so playing in table top mode is now pretty much a given. The case offers very much needed flexibility with this 2-1 solution, since I no longer need to carry around a power bank.

The battery itself gives around 2.5 - 4 hours depending on game. With big power hungry AAA it's gonna drain faster, but either way it prolongs my Switch with a considerable amount of playtime, and it never has to leave the case thanks to the kickstand.

I've been doing some research on Nyko products and I've read about how their portable dock has bricked a lot of Switches, but it doesn't seem like their chargers breaks the Switch. It seems to be an isolated incident with the dock. However, time will tell if my Switch kicks the bucket. I don't think so, but you never know with these third party accessories.

I like the case a lot. It really benefits from a lot of traveling but also if you just use the Switch more portable than docked, which I do.

It's been hot second since I've played Aces. Such a good game, I should really start playing it again.

Unfortunately I'm busy with other games at the moment but Aces just shot up the list of games I need to return to.

Month after month RingFit appears to be a sleeper hit. I hope Nintendo has plans for a sequel (using the same ring con) and/or other titles that use it, like a proper WarioWare. Honestly I think it's a must-buy for the system. You can crank the difficulty down if you aren't interested in the fitness aspects and it's still a fun arcade-like experience. Pretty lengthy game, too (I'm on map 5 with no end in sight, and I'm still unlocking new functions)

Also not to be impatient Nintendo but... uh... where's my ARMS 2?

Exploits in previous games have led people to even buy and sell in-game items and money online. The resources in the game aren't finite but the game is designed with a certain economic balance that gets thrown out of the window when there's exploits and shit, since there are open trade possibilities between any player, so there is a live economy.

The sad part is that they will probably still not be able to stop exploits, LOL.

Anyway it is at least somewhat of a good sign that they are lifting the limit on the number of times the save can be recovered from the cloud. I just don't understand how it gets there in the first place?? lol

I’m mildly disappointed with the lack of splatoon love in this thread
I’m more of a single player and don't really enjoy playing directly against players online most of the time , I know there is a story mode ( salmon run? ) but with the focus being mainly multiplayer not my thing. I do realize I’m probably in the minority but it is what it is.
