Game Grumps (aka Egoraptor plays some games)

I'm honestly pretty disappointed that we're doing Mario Party again. =/

I'm kind of so-so on it but its certainly better than Sonic 06 for me.

I've been loving Castlevania. Haven't checked the likes/disliked yet (on mobile now) but I really hope they start tackling some short but difficult games again. Mega Man was great and this one is too... as long as one of them knows how to play the game reasonably well.

Did Jon say he practiced some before this run? They should make a habit of that on their own time (even just an hour or two) because this is much better than their last Castlevania video

I don't think he said he "practiced," per se, but I think he said he tried a little bit of the game. I dunno, I'd have to check the first video again.

Oh man, Drakkhen was so good.

Today's Mario Party was good too:

Mario Party 2 Revengeance: Every Emotion Ever - PART 5

Jon not really letting Arin have his moment at the end was kind of odd seeing as Jon spent most this episode gloating at various times. I guess Jon really reminds me of my and my friends so many years ago playing games together. It feels like the losses bug him, that it's the game's fault or stuff like that.

Drakkhen

My god they have a field day with this one.
Probably the only good Game Grumps episode in a long time. They've been really shitty lately. Hopefully they start getting better... oh what am I saying of course they won't with the way Jon has been acting.
Amazing episode, however...

They hate must hate you and GAF.

So when will they see the light and play a Persona game?
Dear god I will probably punch my monitor if I see this. They will probably run around in circles and do nothing for episodes at a time. Plus I doubt either of them has the patience to go through a Persona opening without skipping all the text and tutorials. I can imagine them not understanding how anything works afterwards and blaming the game for all of it. Ugh.

To summarize, do not want.

It would be a slower paced Grumps, and they would only need to pay attention at the start to understand the social links and other mechanics, then it's autopilot from there (same thing with Giantbomb endurance run).

The benefits are plenty:

- Enemy designs
- Character interactions
- fusing
- Managing Persona

The jokes write themselves. I know it won't happen, it's just a game that lends itself well to those looking for a little insanity.

You were a fool to get suckered into sending such people games from your personal selection. People are absolutely stupid to continue doing it. These people can afford anything they want, and people sending them games rather than them playing stuff that would be the most entertaining sort of sent this shit off the tracks in its own way.

Rayman Origins is like the perfect Grump Game, and yet out rolls Mario Party again.

Boy, I sure do miss the days of when you could play a new game without tons of text and tutorials at the start and you could figure out how to play a game by, you know, playing it.

How dare we have different layers of complexity in this medium! Everything must be two buttons.

I actually would find it hilarious if they did a few episodes on some of those shitty and usually hilariously creepy newgrounds games from the early 2000's. After watching some of the newer Retsuprae videos where they play them (or watch someone play them) it's possible grump material. It'd probably be more amusing than the new videos GG puts out.

Ha, I thought of you as soon as they said that. That does suck, though. I figured Arin would have been all up on Gunstar Heroes. I'm sure they'll play some of it eventually.

The Castlevania episode was amazing. Finally beating the Grim Reaper after three episodes of constantly dying to him, by spamming the Holy Water button. Arin's disappointment at the anti-climactic-ness of it was golden.

Yeah, they'd definitely hit a slump after a pretty good start, but Castlevania and Strider 2 have been great. They just need to fucking finish '06.

Castlevania, Strider, and Drakkhen all show that Grumps can be very entertaining when they can keep focused on the game itself.
