Game Grumps (aka Egoraptor plays some games)

Yeah, it sounded like a fakeout. He said that Star Tropics dungeon they were in was as hard as the last Temple in Zelda II, then Dan mentions it probably didn't air yet, so Arin corrects himself (and Dan says "spoiler alert"). Soon after he commends Dan on beating the shit out of the game, and Dan replies "With me at the helm, anything is possible."

I laughed a lot at that jab :P
 
I really think the Zelda II playthrough is the best thing they've done since Danny joined. Still can't watch anything with Ross though. He is so grating.
 
I think Ross also pairs well with Barry. Sometimes they both mellow out and it makes for a fun, chill watch. Like the Star Wars Pod Racer series. Wish they did more of that.

I liked Holly at times... or I guess I should say that I didn't find her as offensive to listen to as Suzy at first (she's grown on me, I think because she's adapted to the GG audience a lot more). Holly just comes off as kind of 'girl next door' which I guess a lot of people like, but to me it's more of 'oh hey, she reminds me of about 10 different people I hung out with in high school. That's cool I guess..."

Part of the reason why I like game grumps because it's like hanging out with awesome people who over the top and interesting personalities... Holly just comes off as really down to earth and normal. It's definitely not a negative trait, just nothing exciting the way every other Grump is.
 
I really hope they didn't give up on StarTropics. They need to finish it. It's hard but it's worth it. They still have to finish the final area of chapter 3 (The spring and mountain), the short but interesting chapter 4 (The whale), chapter 5 (Captain Bell's Memorial) and chapter 6 (The longest one with the biggest overworld area) before they get to the final chapter and everything changes. Aren't they kind of playing it blind too? Like neither of them knows exactly what is coming up? I really hope they return to it soon.

Edit: I also hope they get their Xbox working because I loved Outlaw Golf. It had Steve Carell as the announcer. This was before he was on The Office when he was only known from TDS. They have to play it.
 
They probably should have just merged the last two episodes. The finale was beaten before the 4 minute mark and he spent the rest of the time on NG+.

Now bring back StarTropics.
 
a while back they both made it pretty clear that they didn't like and didn't want to play Mario 64.
I guess they're just straight up running out of games

I feel like they've only scratched the surface of the 16-bit era, let alone generations since then. And they will have a ton of games to play if they do more Genesis stuff. Guardian Heroes! Or Dreamcast--play Bangai-o now!
 
Glad to see this thread pop back up. I wanted to go full StarTropics nerd when I found out they were playing it but never got the opportunity to since I didn't see the thread.

That said, play it. It's a good game.

It's impossible to run out of games that would make good videos in a typical human lifespan. There are SO many games out there with new ones coming out every day that I can't imagine it ever happening.
 
Galaxy would be amazing. I just wish Arin didn't hate the 2D Mario games because they gave up on both NSMB games really quickly for no reason at all. But at least we got the awesome 3D World series. Just a shame they never went for the 100%. Those episodes would have been amazing to watch. (First getting all the items required from the levels then the hundreds of deaths on Champion's Road.) At least I got to see enough Champion's Road at AGDC this year.
 
OK, between the screwed up picture at the end of Five Nights at Freddy and the Zombie Burger, Game Grumps is becoming a freaky show.

Arin was convinced that NSMB was nothing but goombas and koopa troopas and super easy and when it started contradicting him they gave up. It wouldn't be good if they played it again cuz all he did when they did play it was complain about made up things in his head the whole time. It's a shame because NSMBWii and NSMBU are amazing games.

Yeah. I love Arin but sometimes he's a real stubborn moron.
 
I dunno, Arin was kinda complaining about the same stuff while playing 3D World but I think Danny set him straight a bit. It would be really cool if they could go back to one of the NSMB games because they're multiplayer and Danny seems to do better at 2D games.

Also I recall Arin saying that he liked NSMB2 for the coin-collecting mechanic which I thought was surprising because it's a pretty shallow mechanic that doesn't change the formula much at all.
 
I... I hate Ross.

I try to like him, I really do. But...

*EDIT* I actually don't mind him on his own or with one other (like Barry), but when he's with the rest of the game grumps and, particularly, with Arin, everything he says is unfunny and annoying.
