There was a time when a Team Ninja-developed Marvel superhero game would’ve been the biggest news in gaming.I was just asking myself why this was not on my radar at all, then I saw "Switch exclusive" and immediately closed the tab.
This game wouldn't exist if it weren't for Nintendo, who are publishing it.I was just asking myself why this was not on my radar at all, then I saw "Switch exclusive" and immediately closed the tab.
Not bashing Nintendo for publishing/funding it, I'm just saying that I don't like handheld gaming and would've preferred a fully fledged console version on PS4/X1 or PC. Good for the people who are into Switch gaming. This game wouldn't exist if it weren't for Nintendo, who are publishing it.
Switch isn’t a fully fledged console? I had no idea...Not bashing Nintendo for publishing/funding it, I'm just saying that I don't like handheld gaming and would've preferred a fully fledged console version on PS4/X1 or PC. Good for the people who are into Switch gaming.
But the Switch is also a console, what? Not bashing Nintendo for publishing/funding it, I'm just saying that I don't like handheld gaming and would've preferred a fully fledged console version on PS4/X1 or PC. Good for the people who are into Switch gaming.
I stopped buying into Nintendo hardware after the GC. I'm not into half-step power consoles, so no, it's not a proper console for me. It's a hybrid that sacrifices performance for portability. But the Switch is also a console, what?
Breath of the Wild and Mortal Kombat aren't console games on Switch I guess.
Then stop shitting up this thread with your stupid opinions. I want to talk to actual gamers about Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3.I stopped buying into Nintendo hardware after the GC. Stop quoting me with stupid bait questions I love to respond to then?Despite coming out soon, there’s a relative lack of information on this title. I hope this Game Informer stuff is the opening of the floodgates. The real question has yet to be answered... Is this going to reflect how shitty Marvel comics has been the past half decade?

Are you worried if Kamala Khan and others from Marvel Rising are gonna decide if what you intend to do is morally right before either jumping into action or not even though you are supposed to control them?Despite coming out soon, there’s a relative lack of information on this title. -Team bonuses are returning (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Wisecracking Warriors, Women of Marvel, Midnight Sons, Defenders, etc.)
-Over two dozens playable characters
-An item drop called XP Cubes will allow for rapid level-ups
-Four characters will be present on-screen at all times
-Can be played with local online, solo, or online
-Heavies, mini-bosses and bosses have a "stamina bar" that needs to be drained out before dealing massive damage (certain heroes are better at this than others)
-Strategic boss battles, example being luring Venom to a sonic alarm to open him up to attacks
-RPG stats like: Strength, Vitality, Mastery?, Resistance, Durability, and Energy are present
-Alliance upgrade system on top of regular hero upgrades, unlocked using credits and a new currency called: Enhancement Points. A node-based upgrade system that effects your whole team with upgrades like stat increases, ie: Might, energy, defensive and offensive buffs.
-ISO-8 will be akin to gear equips, looks like we can have four equipped at a time. Decreased damage when low on health, more HP orbs after defeating an enemy, adding shock damage to certain abilities and attacks. Can also be dismantled to upgrade existing pieces of ISO-8 further.
-A new unlockable feature for the main menu called Infinity Trials will allow us to take on challenges akin to Comic Missions from the past MUA games. Each challenge is split in to groups based off Greek letters such as Lambda and Sigma, each one beaten unlocks another in an interconnecting web that has rewards available only in these challenges. Example: Defeat 200 Hydra agents with a countdown, every enemy beaten extends the timer. Rewards include: leveling opportunities, currency of various types, new characters and hero outfits. (Please let Thanos be a reward character.)
-Different difficulties like: Casual, the "friendly" difficulty with emphasis on button-mashing to victory, Mighty, for greater challenges and a new difficulty after clearing the story once.
-New Game Plus is a thing, alliance enhancements and character levels will transfer over to the second playthrough and chapter selection will be a thing too.
That's all the major points I managed to find, if I missed anything let me know. Hope this helped curb some doubts or increased excitement. I'm still looking forward to this nonetheless.

Morally right? I like Kamala. I’m not really sure what you are saying here, but “morally right” makes me think you are trying to tie my contempt of recent Marvel stuff to some sort of political ideology. Are you worried if Kamala Khan and others from Marvel Rising are gonna decide if what you intend to do is morally right before either jumping into action or not even though you are supposed to control them?

Look, I think Captain Marvel is the most boring super hero there is - zero personality and the writing in her books has been bland as hell. As far as I can tell, the only noteworthy thing about her comic is her haircut. And Black Panther has always be the second biggest asshole in the Marvel Universe after Namor. He’s always been completely offputting to me. But the MCU has slowly been eroding away the foundations of comic Marvel for some time and I just have to get used to the MCU becoming the definitive versions of these characters and teams. I don’t begrudge these characters, even though I don’t care for them.
But the shit that has been going down in the comics in the past few years has been far worse. Tony Stark having a secret brother only to get replaced by Riri Williams - I collected Iron Man for years. Matt Fraction’s run was amazing (if too often interrupted by lame crossover events), and to follow it up with that worthless, hack writing was so awful. I stopped reading the book after collecting it for over a decade. Same with Spider-man. I actually liked Dan Slott’s run, and Superior and Spider-verse were amazing. But I can’t tell you what is going on with Spider-man right now because it became too terrible to keep following. Putting Bendis in charge of Marvel was the dumbest fucking idea in the history of dumb fucking ideas.
Bad writing is bad writing, and I want to know if MUA3 follows these terrible decisions or if it largely ignores them in favor of the versions of these characters which aren’t mentally handicapped.
I only read the first two trades, but I liked it well enough. I did like Spider-Gwen, which seemed to venture into identity politics occasionally but not horribly so. But I dropped that when she kissed Miles Morales. Miles was always a cheap Spider-man replacement to me. He basically existed so that they could de-age Ultimate Spider-man back into high school because of Marvel's absurd need to never let Spider-man wear his big boy pants for too long. After they started replacing all the Marvel characters with minority characters, I realized that Miles was basically the blueprint for them fucking up Marvel and he's become the lightning rod for my rage. Also, Bendis is the definition of someone who once had talent, but let useless ideology replace actual writing and became the worst kind of hack. Having Mary Sue Lady Spider-man make out with Mary Sue Diversity Scab Spider-man just felt so very, very wrong. Like watching incest porn with your parents. Made my skin crawl.I liked Kamala Khan's concept as char when I first heard about her . But I disliked the identity politics driving her stories. Too much focus on political stuff often leading to bad writing in my book. Especially when the writer seems not wanting to write a super hero comic based on a previously known super-hero.

I don’t read comics anymore. Marvel is basically dead to now and I haven’t gone to a comic book store in a long time. I still read Astro City trades, and manga like One Piece, but the American comic book industry is basically a nonentity, and I’m worried the game industry isn’t far behind.I was starting to feel that no one here liked comics anymore.
Team Ninja you say, SOLD!I wasn’t really interested until I found out it was Koei Tecmo. It’s not technically a Musou game (and it is Team Ninja instead of Omega Force), but it gives me a lot more faith that it will be awesome than if a western studio just tried to copy UA2.
I miss Marvel Heroes
I think you can still get the digital version through Amazon.Same. Every now and then I look for private servers but I guess it’ll never happen.
Looking forward to this though! I’d like to get the first two aswell if they could be sold digitally again
I’ve been out of the comic scene for awhile, but are Ms. Marvel, Spider-Gwen, and Miles Morales popular characters? The initial character reveals seem weird to me. Why not Captain America, Iron Man, or Wolverine?
Of all the ways Marvel has ruined its own comic books in the past half decade, these three characters represent the most popular of the new material. They are kind of the shield before Marvel criticism.I’ve been out of the comic scene for awhile, but are Ms. Marvel, Spider-Gwen, and Miles Morales popular characters?
Peter Parker left New York as part of the Spider-man Worldwide story. So when they renamed Miles Morales as the new Spider-man, Parker was not participating in the Avengers or being a part of the rest of the Marvel universe as much. Thor lost the ability to wield Mjolnir, and apparently, his own given name. As for Carol, she was the background character in other people’s back story (her most noteworthy moment was when Antman spied in her in the shower). You could’ve replaced her with a potted plant and it would’ve been an improvement.Yeah, but Peter, Thor (at least I heard he returned, I don't read much Thor anyway), and Carol didn't actually go anywhere.
I only read Geoff Johns’ run, from bringing back Hal to the Darkest Night, so I’m not qualified to talk about the new black muslim Green Lantern or the newer dual nationality American/Mexican woman Green Lantern. John Stewart was just a black guy though. And an engineer. Meanwhile, Kyle’s defining characteristic is a justifiable fear of refrigerators. It's like saying Green Lantern is only a black guy, it's inaccurate.
