Game soundtracks on vinyl | Analogue Gen 33fps

Got a notice today that Furi shipped, but checking the tracking it looks like it shipped on the 10th. It's now stateside sitting in customs. Hopefully not much longer now.

I received a shipping notification today as well - and I received my copy 2 days ago :P

I had an issue with iam8bit last year when the Banjo Kazooie vinyls came out. I ordered 2x BK and 1x Battletoads, and when I received them there was only 1x BK and 1x Battletoads, simple mistake as shit happens. I emailed them promptly to no response, and sent another to a response, which then that wasn't sent out until I sent another email after that. The replacement BK I got had a tear on the sleeve as well... after all the hassle I didn't want to deal with it again to get a not-teared one, so yeah. It makes no sense either since the package seemed to be not even damaged, like it was damaged before they even sent it.

You reminded me to check on the status of mine. My tracking info says that it shipped on the 10th, too. Current status says "Arrived at final destination Location", which was on the 13th. Hopefully that doesn't mean "delivered", because I haven't gotten mine yet.

It specifically says "Delivered" once it's been delivered, so no worries.

It's probably from shaking. If the discs are left in the sleeves/cover while in transit they can burst through the cover it if gets shaken enough. This happens to 9/10 records I order... Data Discs ship them outside the cover for me, cos they're cool.

Can't believe all these posts about iam8bit...

My Hotline Miami 2 vinyl had a slightly damaged sleeve when I received it. I contacted them and sent some pics. They shipped me a replacement sleeve free of charge! Then I got Perfect Dark and Banjo, both damaged. Sent pics and they sent replacement sleeves for both of those too!

Really sorry to hear about your experiences man, that's some inexcusable bullshit. Thank god my Hotline Miami sleeve wasn't damaged...
Is that from damage where the record has moved around in the sleeve during transport and split the edges? I had that happen with a non-VGM record from the UK about a year ago. Then I saw this on the Data Discs FAQ:
Can you remove the record(s) from the outer sleeve to avoid seam splits during shipping? Also, what's a seam split?

A seam split is a common type of postal damage that occurs when your parcel is shaken during transit. The vinyl itself moves around and eventually pushes through the outer sleeve, causing a tear (usually along the top edge). The only way to completely avoid this is to remove the record from the outer sleeve prior to packing. If you would like us to do this, then please email us and we will be happy to oblige.

Even though I've only dealt with them, pretty sure I won't find any better.

Damn straight.

Just as a note, iam8bit backtracked after the mini firestorm so thanks dudes.

I did get a hilariously passive aggressive email from "Eva," calling me out for going to Twitter without engaging her in a "dialogue." 😆 But hey, problem solved.

They also told me your (first) name for no apparent reason! So, cool!

Don't sweat their passive aggressiveness. They deserve every bit of flak they've been getting.

That's quite common. Unless you rub the record's surface violently with the cardboard sleeve, they'll be fine. I have several albums with cardboard sleeves that I spin regularly and never seen any scuff marks. Just take good care of your records in general and you have nothing to worry about.

Good to know, thanks. I need to order some paper sleeves for second hand records anyways, so I may do so anyways, but at least I know they will be fine regardless.

Look into polylined sleeves instead. They're better for your records than plain paper ones and not that much more expensive.

As someone who's getting into vinyl for the first time, it's awesome to see that there's a decent amount of gaming OSTs on vinyl. I have a few questions...

1) Is there no way to get a vinyl copy of the Furi OST, even if it's not the special edition? I'm bummed I missed the 2xLP but I'll take anything at this point.

2) What are the chances for a Bloodborne OST release on vinyl, considering it got put on Spotify recently?

Thanks in advance.

Furi should still be available here: http://furi.hitpoint.tv/furi-original-soundtrack-vinyl-2xlp

As for Bloodborne, that's anyones guess as no Souls games have had their OSTs on vinyl (yet). Spacelab9 recently sent out a survey asking about interest in certain titles including Dark Souls. So I'm guessing that if Souls is a possibilty then there's a chance we could see Bloodborne as well. The demand certainly seems to be there. That's all speculation for now, though.

The negotations for Bloodborne and Dark Souls would be completely separate.

I would say a Bloodborne OST through iam8bit is the most likely scenario, since Sony seems to have a relationship with them.

I believe Sumthing Else holds the digital rights to the Bloodborne OST and I believe they've recently partnered with Spacelab9 for Assassin's Creed, so I think they could be an option as well. I guess we'll just have to see.

Got Furi today. They double-boxed it with no extra charge, which I appreciated since it's been raining and the outer box was dampened.

Take that, iam8bit!

I fucking hate customs... Just got a note saying that I need to pay ~$26 to get my Drift Stage single. That was a $15 release (before shipping) that is now suddenly a $40 release because of outdated laws and a greedy postal service. And to make matters worse the tracking indicate that they're holding my Castlevania 10" as well.

How strange, i just got mine and shipping label says it came from Germany so no customs. But yeah, customs charges here in our european countries are a real pain on top of already high shipping costs.

Hachiroku so hot!

Please no :( I'll have to buy it and support them then. In fact I'll end up buying all versions of it. Rip

That is so weird. Mine has shipped through DHL which is a Deutsche Post company, so maybe the Finnish postal service misunderstood that and thought it came form Germany?

It makes no sense that they should use German distribution for some EU orders and not others :P

Yeah, I agree with you on that. Oh well, if mine indeed does come from Germany then I should be able to open a case for a refund. I know the Danish Postal Service are in need of money so they'll probably grab anything that remotely resembles a non-EU package and slap import fees on it.

The yellow sticker actually says the box came from a non-EU country. "Niederaula" is a big distribution center in Germany with an integrated customs office, so either customs were already paid or you got lucky?

You can also see the original sticker with address etc. underneath

We will do our best to facilitate Day One arrivals. However, we are listing an October 2016 ship date, simply because there are so many variables to physical game production when doing smaller, specialty, collectible releases like this. Selecting FedEx 2-Day shipping is the best option to ensure you get it first, when it ships.

Fuck everything about this.
ARGHGHHG.

It's the book that's bringing the price up for this, which is fine, if you want to have a book with this, its fine. But you also offer a picture disc version, so if you are fine with offering 2 versions, offer one without the fucking book so it's like $40, instead of $75. Still way too much, but more reasonable.
