Game soundtracks on vinyl | Analogue Gen 33fps

Does anybody know what the best way to contact iam8bit is? I emailed them about my uncharted 4 vinyl sleeves being ripped but they haven't responded yet, not sure if they were just off for the holidays or something.

Metal Gear Solid would be one of my top picks, I love that soundtrack. Otherwise, bring on more retro! Toejam and Earl from Data Discs would be amazing. Oh, and I just replayed VVVVVV, and would love a soundtrack for that too!
I'm hoping for full FM-synth porn from Data Discs, just to bring out the best in the format. TJ&E would work, totally. I'd also love to see the Genesis/MD Mortal Kombat soundtrack and to top it all off, the arcade Fantasy Zone score.

Did we already do a list of 2017 hopes?

'Cuz JSR would be up there for me too, for sure.

I would buy JSR and/or JSRF so fast.

Some of my big hopes (2017 or any time) are Panzer Dragoon Saga, SFIII, Mother 3 (need to complete that vinyl tilogy), Star Fox, Killer 7, Thousand Year Door, Chibi Robo, Advance Wars, and pretty much any high quality Mega Man albums they want to put out.

That's actually the form I ended up using, but I didn't get any sort of auto reply. I guess I'll wait another day or so before I contact them again.

Try writing store@iam8bit.com instead. I know they previously had some issues with the form (although I think it should be fixed by now). If it's for the UK store then it's store.uk@iam8bit.com.

Also backers for the Matt Gray Reformation Kickstarter can now pledge for a Reformation vinyl album (alongside the Last Ninja 2 album). It doesn't appear to be up for non-backers - at least not yet, but I'll look into that.

If LKD's Mother 3 on Switch VC in 2017 rumor is true, then this would be a great time to co-market with a vinyl release. I hope it happens!

On the topic of Data Discs and Sega, Vectorman 1 is one of my favorite lesser celebrated soundtracks, and some of the tunes sound so trippy in Stereo over headphones, lol. Especially Ocean/Tidal Surge

Mother 1 & 2 were only able to happen because the rights to those specific OSTs were owned by a record label and had nothing to do with Nintendo; I have no idea if or how Mother 3 is different but if it requires them to negotiate directly with Nintendo I'd give it a 0% chance of happening.

I wonder if Mondo will do SH2
I pray to dark gods to make it so!

With more prayers for our cybernetic gods to deliver Policenauts and MGS.

I know that site is specifically UK/EU only but is there anyway to snag that in the US?

I believe it was previously available on Rice digital website for international shipping, but that was for a much more expensive launch collectors edition when the game first came out.

I know Square-Enix has only mildly dabbled, but Nier soundtracks need to happen with the sequel boiling up the hyper waters at the moment.

If anyone's interested, I reviewed Data Discs's Panzer Dragoon over on USgamer. I didn't really appreciate this soundtrack until I sat and listened to it on this release. What a great collection of music.

Man, I can hear the opening horns of this soundtrack just by thinking about it.

I cannot wait for mine to arrive. I've purposefully avoided listening to it since the data discs release was announced.

Good job again. I really enjoy reading your reviews :)

Also sad to see you leave USgamer - will you continue to be writing vgm vinyl reviews elsewhere?

Thanks! And yes — I'll still be writing reviews of classic soundtrack releases at retronauts.com after I leave USG. I also expect to wrap game soundtrack coverage into the podcast itself as well... seems like a logical, natural fit. So, in fact, I'll be doing MORE with these music releases once I head out on my own.

Hooray! Every time you say something like this I get more excited about the change. Was a little worried at the outset, to be honest.

A little late but their twitter account is responsive. Especially if you just @iam8bit in the middle of bitching about your problem. Its how I got my issue resolved with my Killer Cuts vinyl.

Hey, for what it's worth I've only just started listening to Retronauts and it was excellent background chat while I was moving house last week. Rest assured that once house finances are sorted, I'll be Patreoning it up!

FWIW I'd totally buy a Bubble Bobble 7", too.

Isn't Bubble Bobble going to be on Zuntata Vol 2 from ShiptoShore? I seem to recall that being posted here, because while that's exciting, I was really hoping for Rastan Saga to be on the next comp.

I did a quick search and it seems vol.2 will be all Darius series music but Bubble Bobble, Bubble Symphony, Rayforce, Gun Frontier and PuLiRuLa are all confirmed for later releaaes.

I finally decided to order the Sky Blue version Panzer Dragoon and proud to announce that it'll be the first gaming vinyl in my collection!

Heads up - Ship To Shore will put up a very small amount of MOTHER copies on their store at 1PM EST. The copies will have minor damage (corner dings, seam splits, etc.) to the jacket and will be sold at $30.

Aaahh, screw it, I bought the Mother release.

Last chance and all that.

Hopefully there will be some Mother 2 leftovers soon as well.

Edit: aaaand they are gone. Wonder how many were actually around.

Well, they did say it was a very limited number. Seems they were right.

Should picture discs go into paper sleeves?
Yeah, the general advice is to not keep them in the clear polywhatever sleeves they come in, as they can "gas out" and get material into the actual grooves of the records. Of course, this requires a lot of time and such, but it can/will happen.

w2c paper sleeves?

i think have have a kyary lp that's a pic disc and it came in a plastic sleeve

Regular plastic is fine (although some sleeves can scuff), PVC is what you should be wary of. PVC sleeves are usually thicker and less flexible than regular plastic outers. I usually put them in some good innersleeves as well, since I don't display picture discs in any way.
