Games or Systems you dodged a bullet on.

This piece of garbage was nearly my first experience with Sonic 1.

I'm very glad I couldn't be bothered to order it at the time.

As a kid I really wanted a Jaguar because the local mall had a giant stack of them outside of some store for $40. That should have been enough of a bad sign to scare me off, but I was a dumb six year old that thought if it had Mortal Kombat it couldn't be that bad, despite my brother telling me not to get one. Thankfully I just never got around to buying one.

A more recent one is Smash Bros for Wii U. It's a good game but too slow paced for my taste. I'm glad I just barely resisted the launch hype.

I remember thinking as a child that the logical choice after having a Gameboy and an Snes would be to go for N64.
I don't know how, but I ended up taking a Playstation. Perhaps Crash's more simplistic 3d movement scared me less that Mario's where targeting your jumps where harder.
I never regretted making that decision.

Owned a Day One PSP and absolutely loved it. Purchased a TON of games for it as well.

Had a Vita pre-ordered but got an iPhone shortly beforehand.

Vita pre-order cancelled.

Haven't looked back.

No regrets.

I cancelled my Assassin's Creed: Unity pre-order and avoided the launch woes of that game. I still bought it later, but only after it received several patches.

Crazy thread.

People that "dodged a bullet" on an Xbox for example missed out on Ninja Gaiden, the defining action game up until Bayo 2.

People that "dodged" the GameCube missed out on Metroid Prime and the REmake, two of the finest games ever made.

People that "dodged" a Dreamcast missed out on arcade gaming's last stand with Soul Calibur 1, a metric shit ton of prime Sega and Capcom stuff and that incredible shmup library.

And so on...

True. But most people don't have time/money/interest to own every platform (or more than one in many cases. So for them it's still dodging the bullet of not picking whichever system has the least games that ended up interesting them that generation.
