Gaming music, what one song makes you get pumped?

All these pages and no mention of Commando on C=64...

Others worth mentioning:
Sonic & Knuckles - Flying battery zone (both)
Xenon 2 Megablast
One Must Fall - theme
And I like Phendrana Edges music from Metroid Prime

There are too many, but something that I remember in particular:

1) Tales of Symphonia - Fighting of the Spirit/Mithos/Fatalise
2) Metroid Prime - Tallon Overworld/Phendrana/Magmoor/Credits
3) Donkey Kong Country II - Diddy's Kong Quest - Boss Bossanova/Krook's March

1. The Legend of Zelda Overworld (and in general most of Zelda's OSTs)
2. Baten Kaitos Gentle Wind; Limpidly flow
3. Banjo-Kazooie: Clanker's Cavern; Rusty Bucket Bay.

The Legend of Zelda, Majora's Mask, Ending (when Link is liberated by the malediction, with the Piano).
The Legend of Zelda, Twilight Princess, Midna's Desperate Hour
The Legend of Zelda, The Wind Waker, Dragon Roost Island

There are so many.

-Megaman 2 (the first level after you defeat all eight robots).

-Xenosaga (I never knew the name but it starts of with slow piano).

-Metal Gear Solid 2 (Big Shell) (nice and steady to listen to while working).

-Metal Gear Solid 3 (Ending version of the opening theme from MGS2).

There are way too many more that are equally moving to me. All the way from NES to current.

I really liked Flight as well. That's the kind of music I miss in RPGs today. That song was full of adventure wasn't it. Just hearing it, you knew you were about to go on a huge journey.

I'm sure this was posted somewhere, but man, i'd have to actually say MGS has the best musical score out of any game... this is pretty good at VGL, which i gotta check out sometime, especially after watching some of it... notice the funny part playing "Duel" at 3:25, just watch it through a lil... :lol

edit, haha, found another showing it pops up too actually, lol

The Metal Gear Solid 2 version is superior!

You Tube Version

The three songs from the main tracks of Sega Touring Car. Especially the one that quotes Martin Luther King Jr. Avex Trax won.

*/edit* JSR and Ridge Racer are honorary mentions.

GGXX : Holy Orders (Be Just or Be Dead) : I wake up to this, listen to it almost daily... I just love it THAT much. Same goes for Get Down to Business, but this one being more recent, I just don't feel as I'm listening to what I'd call a "classic" yet. It will eventually come, I'm sure of it.

Baten Kaitos Origins : The Valedictory Elegy ~Guitar Version~ : Most battle themes in RPGs (save the Megaten series) have this "epic battle" feel about them, even The True Mirror from the first BK. But this one. Hah. More like a "I'm going to beat the mother****ing living shit out of you, then stomp your testicles and eat your children, then kill AND THEN beat your corpse some more and that's just the beginning of it" feel.

Chrono Cross : Orphanage of Flame : I swear, I can feel myself becoming evil when I listen to this, it's almost frightening. :lol

Chrono Trigger: Regular battle music

Chrono Cross: The first fight with the Time Devourer

Final Fantasy VIII:
Boss music

Final Fantasy IX:
The part where Zidane goes crazy

1)Metroid Prime: Main theme/credits
2)
Dark Lord Ganondorf battle - Twilight Princess
3)MGS2 main theme

The Metroid Prime one is just the best piece of Videogame music ever made. The SOTC stuff is epic to, but just slightly below these.

Well, there's the battle music against the spore and the dragon guy in Maridia, there's the battle music against Phantoon/Kraid. Then there's different music against Ridley,Draygon, Chozo etc. And then of course Mother Brain battle music

They're all pretty different. But they're all great.

You're probably thinking of the one against Phantoon/Kraid.

I like watching red scarlet speed runs with that music. she 'dances' along to the music pressing the L/R buttons :lol

No I'm thinking of the normal boss music, the one that sorta sounds like something out of Aliens. I like that.

Any ESAKA from King of Fighters really gets me into the game. and the Staff Roll from Vagrant Story is one of the greatest video game compositions evar (Sakimoto ftw).

Oh and the Excitebike theme really gets my motor running (LOLZ GET IT???)

My audio died on my computer so I just typed it in, hoping it was the right song.

Is that not the over world theme for FF9?

Edit: You WHORE! You changed the link.:lol Can someone confirm though if the link I posted is the over world them?

Man this is like being deaf.:lol

Am I the only one who came into this thread expecting the Ghost Recon II Title Theme?

Apart from that, Harry Gregson-Williams Sons of Liberty Theme from Metal Gear Solid 2 and the Halo Theme.

Yeah, here we go... from Ace Combat 4:

Megalith -Agnus Dei- (You will SHIT YOUR PANTS listening to this)

Seconded. This theme is phantasmagoric. The music itself is really incredible, but you have to play the game to understand how amazing this piece is.

And I have to add the whole Hitman 4 OST. Juste awesome. I couldn't use enough superlatives over this one.

The Science Sector theme from System Shock 2. When i first played that game and that music kicked in after the short intro.. i was pumped. Especially cause thats when the shit starts to fly.. enemies start pursuing you, etc.

Youtubed for easy access

Another high energy track is Engineering1. The soundtrack is available here http://www.sshock2.com/ss2mmdb/music.htm

They're cool tracks but I actually disable the music in this game. -_-

I really like the whirring and droning of the spaceship. Intoxicating atmosphere and strangely effective even during action sequences. A lonely, hopeless semi-silence broken up by insane ranting.

I really like the ambient music in this game but I still don't use it...
