Gears of War 3 "Dust to Dust" trailer

What do you mean? Aren't most companies going to the system of releasing it "on the same day" for everyone? That would result in Europe getting the games technically first.
Oh, it's happening now, very slowly, but only for big releases.

Noooo, it might cause you to procrastinate on the OT

Actually...it would lol. I still have to finish a good portion of it. It will be multiple posts, because I don't want to risk going over the image limit per post.

Trying to interact with one of the Craiglist leakers.

He had 3 copies. already sold 2.

But he's asking for $200... DAMN.

asked him for the source.

Doubtfully he will give it.

There are a couple of New York guys around here that always know the right spots when games hit early.

Seriously, if anyone in NYC finds out, hit me the fuck up through PMs.

I wanna get dis shit URLEY

It's a good trailer. Gears of War has always had great trailers. I think it's a shame that they always pack way more punch than the games themselves.

No, why would I? That isn't even logically even the same situation.

Not sure exactly what you mean by that. I was talking about games that get released on Tuesday in North American and then Friday in Europe. 3 day XP advantage for those games. Is that fair or does it only matter if it's ahead of the official release date? This game releases worldwide on the 20th. People in Asia and Europe will be playing before you do. Think of all the XP people in Australia can earn in 14 hours they have the game before you. Is that fair, or do you want them to reset the XP at 00:00 in your specific timezone?

It's only XP anyway. You don't unlock anything advantageous. Who cares? You have a very strange attitude towards this.

No. The vast majority of the time that doesn't happen.

My guess is that some of these people work at warehouses/ distro centers, or at least know people who do. They snag a few copies and sell them online.

I didn't know that there were distro centers in the tri-state.

If that's the situation, then i'm sad. I don't mind stores breaking street date, but stealing from factories..... I would feel more guilty, but still would buy it ;)... not for $200 though.

If I do find that the local store i usually go to has them, doubt it. I will PM NYC people here to share the wealth.

It’s almost time for Gears of War 3 to arrive, and while we wait patiently, GoW Nation is ready to announce our first ever Gears of War 3 tournament, “First Foray”!
Using our new events portal, GameNation, we finally have registration up for our First Foray tournament, over the first two weekends that the game is out. You can head over to the page here at http://gamenationpro.com and find out all of the information about the event.

The purpose of this launch tournament is to help foster in a new age of competitive play for the Gears of War franchise, and help raise awareness for the game as a whole. Teams will have their first shot at competition in the game, and the chance to really see what they can do as we move into the next era of competitive Gears of War.

We are excited to announce a great partnership with Calibur 11, the creator of the Gears of War Vault for the Xbox 360, and along with qualification for our Invite division, one lucky team will be able to claim prizes such as brand new Xbox 360 Vaults, along with Gears of War themed t-shirts, all thanks to Calibur 11. We will also do giveaways throughout the tournament with Xbox Live codes for all kinds of cool stuff in Gears of War, Microsoft Points, and more.

As mentioned before, this launch tournament will feed into our first ever GN

Go ahead and sign up guys.

Your's truly designed GoW Nation's logo as well as the poster. Whaddya think?

Does that tournament require four man teams to sign up? I'd like to do it but don't know if I can get the roster together, I've got a couple of competent friends who might be interested.

I don't understand why the hell a gears tournament would be 4v4. Gears is 5v5. It's not like anything is different. It's just an extra person.

It's what MLG does. Don't ask me. I didn't make the rules.

Gears works best at 4v4 to me. Gridlock's just ass with 5 players each.

I know you didn't. But just because MLG uses 4v4 for games that actually use 4v4 doesn't mean that they shouldn't use 5v5 for a game that uses 5v5

Ah, yeah, well we get that too for games released/made outside the U.S. Arma 2, and a few other games come to mind (especially Japanese games).

Like I said to him, we get that here too, albeit on a smaller basis. It is what it is, yet it's still an understood release date.

To go back to what I said before, no I don't have an "issue" with that at all since those are the chosen release dates. None of that matters anyway since the original post is dealing with what Epic's view is of "keeping things fair," which was the question. And again, logically this and what you're asking me about aren't even the same scenarios. One is a person playing on a release day and another is a person playing before release day.

YOU are the one trying to assign attitude,to a situation where there is none. A simple question was asked on whether or not Epic is going to "do like Bungie" and start everyone fresh on release day. Quit trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Much easier to assemble a team of four and get them all online together.

Weird because I never have any problems getting five together. Adding one more person doesn't really make it harder if you have a core group of guys to play with. Besides the people who register for tourneys and such shouldn't have problems finding five guys.

Well Gears was originally always 4v4. Wasn't Gears 1 on the circuit? They just never upped it to 5v5 when Gears 2 came out. What's the big deal anyways if it's 4 or 5? 4 seems like a good even number that should play well on maps. Pairs of two.

Maybe someone can finally answer this question for me:

Do you need to have all the tags and bonus items collected from the Gears 1 and 2 campaigns to unlock any characters in 3?

Well to me that still sounds like double standards. Whatever... the situation isn't of any particular concern. I'm going to bow out now rather that follow this in the direction it is being taken.

Thanks for the link above me.
