That or they open up on the 20th. Which is what I'm thinking.Alienshogun said:Well, there are a few missing.
Flowers, pink, digital etc.
Those might be in DLC though.
-PXG- said:Look again.
Those are only a small portion of the skins. Most are listed by weapon, not set.

Perhaps, I asked on twitter, but I doubt I will get a response, they probably aren't happy people have the game already.

At the moment both the assumptions that they are indeed on the disk and will be paid DLC down the line are merely that, assumptions.Raxus said:I like how people are complaining about useless (and unlockable) weapon skins when two ON DISC maps are going to be DLC.

Not saying it won't happen, just not going to pull my pitchfork out yet. Should I be asked to pay for those two maps, two maps which we know are effectively complete and have been for a substantial amount of time then I'll be the first to join in with the torch burning and mass complaints.
And I disagree with someone else's comment, I don't think 10 maps is enough for the launch of a game like Gears, especially when one is a remake and they've had three years to work on it. I'd say 12-14 is the sweet spot. As much as I shit on COD they get a wealth of maps into the game for launch because they know it's the content customers really care for, and Epic should treat us no differently.
zlatko said:That's a good size for launch, but I don't buy for a second that those maps weren't done. I watched leaked footage of them online didn't I? Looked damn done to me, and plus they had an extra ton of time to wrap it up.
Don't disagree, but we don't really know how good these ten Gears maps are. Chances are that we're going to find more maps we really enjoy playing repeatedly in a batch of 16-18 than a collection of 10. And your post implies Gears never has shitty or uninspired maps. Which it has done in the past(Overgrown, Mausoleum, River, Blood Drive, in fact many Gears 2 maps) and I'd wager will do in the future. It's simple probability.zlatko said:Quality over quantity.
CoD games have some shitty ass maps. Shout outs to Nuketown.

I quite enjoyed the Beta maps, especially Thrashball and Old Town but I've not really played them enough to judge whether they're classics on the same level as Gridlock, Raven Down, Canals and War Machine.
zlatko said:The bigger your map pool is the less time spent refining certain maps, and that's how shit like Nuketowns happen. Smaller list, more time to polish everything, and therefore less turds should occur. That's my 2 pennies on big vs small when it comes to launch maps.
I agree on some levels, I think many Gears 2 maps, Grindyard being a great example were compromised to try and work with Horde as well as Competitive play. Grindyard was actually a decent Horde map, but like you say feel flat on its arse during multiplayer. I also have to try and separate my overt dislike for Gears 2s mechanics and the individual maps themselves, which I can do, for example I think Security is by far the best map in the game and would be very enjoyable with improved mechanics.zlatko said:Gears 2 maps for me didn't click in a lot of ways. Grindyard I think is the one with just a boom shot in the middle up some ramp and overlooks the whole map right? It's either your team gets there first and you win, or you don't, and you lose. End of.
My love for Gears of War 1 maps is through the roof though. The one map I hated in Gears 1(and 2) was War Machine, but I know others enjoyed it. For me War Machine was a dildos map simply because EPIC could never nail the hopping up a ledge animation and I would constantly find myself getting stuck on damn sandbags.

As for there was 20 on the beta leak... and only 10 making to launch I say wtf. -_-
Edit: Oh and Old Town will survive the test of time. Instant classic. New Tball and new Trenches could be too, but beta versions had serious issues with spawns which are fixed now, so we'll see.

I DO want to go, but not alone. Plus, unless I can get some quality time with Epic dudes, I don't want to go. I don't feel like standing around, being uncomfortable and waiting for hours on end. Fuck that.
Plus, I have the game (and my Retro) all paid for and ready to go here, where I live.
Don't have to worry about that :/
She was gonna go with me if I went, surprisingly

Well if he's getting the previous Gears games, you shouldn't bank on the Multiplayer as being a selling point for everyone.snack said:If you're gonna pay for XBL, I'd say yes.
