In all seriousness this OP is to highlight games that will be left broken after GFWL is shutdown, with less than a month to go the listed games are still not patched.

I doubt R* is gonna patch anything, the steam releases of pretty much all of their games are broken or not working properly in one way or another.

San Andreas for example has no 1080p support because R* for some weird reason decided to update the game to version 3.00, not sure what is changed tough i doubt anything useful for the consumer, they have a support page up which has been up for about 3 years now, contacted them about it and they directed me to other versions of the game for widescreen, not confirming wether the issue was still being looked at, note that it is not difficult to change your exe to 1.00 or 1.01 legally but that is besides the point, the version on steam is broken.

Also remember Manhunt being played on a Giantbomb stream and it being all kinds of fucked up cause of crashes and progression bugs.

Bully for years had lots of issues compared to the console versions aswel though i'm not exactly sure what those were though many consider this version to be shit.

RIP Fallout 3.

Please never again Microsoft.

Leave it to those that know what they're doing,
or that care about PC gaming.

In all seriousness this OP is to highlight games that will be left broken after GFWL is shutdown, with less than a month to go the listed games are still not patched.

Posts made by Capcom and Bandai would allude to Microsoft having pushed back the unofficial shutdown date of July to give publishers more time to implement a solution.

Keep in mind the July date only came from the original Age of Empires Online announcement which was taken down and never confirmed by Microsoft.

But I wanted to pay for online games on the PC, dirty poors and their dirty poor free servers in the free place with all the free shit...

Do people actually use GFWL and actually like it?
Right here matey, however this is because in all the years its been around I've never had an issue with it, I fully understand this isn't the case for most others and as such it needed to go (or actually get fixed), but i did like it..

I actually like how it was implemented in game (the interface IMO was great), and i really wish MS had of spent time actually improving it instead of simply letting it die.

I can't believe there isn't any fuss about the fact that people's Dark Souls copies will be unplayable in a month. Me I'm more sad for Universe at War.

How did such a terrible idea like GFWL ever happen. Is the steam version of RE5 GFWL free?

This is why pc gaming is such a minefield, you never know what kind of drm a game has, they come in all kinds of forms. (FF7 Square Enix login, GFWL, Securom etc), almost got the wrong version of Riddick with the 5 activation limit.

How do we know?
In all fairness, do you believe that they will patch all those games to work properly even after GFWL is gone? I don't think they want to waste their time on fixing this up, but hey if they do then so be it, I'd welcome it with open arms. I love me some RF:G online just for the heck of it.

I actually loved it and worked everytime I used it.

I could get LIVE achievements, and see and interact with my friends list of console gamers. Sad to see it go tbh. Kind of feel like Microsoft should come up with something to connect PC and Xbox together.

No they shouldn't.

I would to say fuck you to all publishers that forced this upon gamers. I would also like to say another further fuck you to all publishers that won't patch this shit out and leaving us with coasters (or digital coasters).

Finally we can put this piece of trash to rest. Never worked when I tried to play Dirt 2 I think, and always gave me problems with Fallout 3 and GTA IV. So long MS, turn off the lights when you leave.

You know this is a prime example of why people refused to use GFWL. Many of us called this day 1. We knew that this would happen and sure enough it is. MS is shutting it down and now many people are screwed out of playing many of their games they paid good money for.

Dark Souls...please, someone fix it.

Seriously.

Bandai has already removed GFWL from Ace Combat in favor of Steamworks and 'is currently seeking avenues to continue support and ensure the functionality of Dark Souls on other services.'

With only one relevant avenue of support available on the PC platform that would easily and cheaply cover all the bases, you can only guess what they are going to use.

Steam version of RE5 has GFWL.

Really the same reason I refuse to purchase games that have forced Uplay functionality.

Uplay is only available as a service as long as Ubisoft continues to produce successful games. As soon as they wish they will pull the plug on the service.

Dark Souls GFWL removal is a pretty certain thing at this point, don't worry about it.
