Ghostbusters Is Back!

Aiming with the Wiimote would be awesome, as long as you don't cross the streams...

Dr. Egon Spengler: There's something very important I forgot to tell you.
Dr. Peter Venkman: What?
Dr. Egon Spengler: Don't cross the Wiimotes.
Dr. Peter Venkman: Why?
Dr. Egon Spengler: It would be bad.
Dr. Peter Venkman: I'm fuzzy on the whole good/bad thing. What do you mean, "bad"?
Dr. Egon Spengler: Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.
Dr Ray Stantz: Total protonic reversal.
Dr. Peter Venkman: Right. That's bad. Okay. All right. Important safety tip. Thanks, Egon.

Well it's an EA game. That sucks.

Nope, its not. I think Vivendi is publishing this.

We got a peek at this a while ago at work and it sounds pretty cool, plot-wise. The fact the original writers are working on this is just gravy.

BTW: I don't think Murray's writing it. I think he's just acting in it, which is fine by me.

Wow, didn't think they could get the old talent back. Ramis and Aykroyd writing is the big surprise, and there's sure to be a wicked fun Murray recording session. I too demand 4 player on-line co-op.

I need this issue yesterday.

I thought they were making a Ghostbuster 3 movie in CG too. According to interviews with Aykroyd, Murray was in if it was an animated film (so he wouldn't have to move around with the proton packs I guess).

A video game Ghostbusters 3 would very likely suck.

Ramis, Murray and Aykroyd are involved?
I'm going to buy this. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles revival in theaters was awesome, and now this... it's a great time to be someone who was born in 1985. :D

Which pretty much guarnatees hideousness - one of the worst publishers out there, IMO. Pretty much all their licence-based games have been soulless drivel.

Yeah, Vivendi Universal is like an european Electronic Arts, is it not?

The Wii version would have the potential to be awesome, but since it will most likely be a PS2 port, I won't elevate my expectations.

Some of you need to learn to read:
And no, this has nothing to do with the Ghostbusters Zootfly video demonstration that floated around the internet in January.

Also, Aykroyd has said he wants to do a CG movie, but that's a long way from it actually happening.

That they actually got Murray to do it is pretty fucking awesome, though. I'm excited.

Ghostbusters is my single favorite movie ever, so I've kinda got a chubby right now.

I've seen it so many times...it never gets old

Exactemont!

What really irritates me is that they luck out with Blizzard and then everything that massive team does funds the rest of the bumbling.

I wonder if this is the Ghostbusters in Hell project that has been in film hell for a few years now....

I did some consulting work for the company making the NDS version of this. Did the initial game design--I made it a kind of a squad RTS game with an Xcom-ish metagame, although I am not sure if the direction has changed since then. The console versions are pure action, though.

And no, the company that made those demo vids is not involved with this project in any way.

Vivendi is a french company and the publisher of Spyro.
No shit, Sherlock. Redirecting to that site in particular (as opposed to, say, a general Vivendi site) is still pretty damn random.

Edit: not to mention a french site when it's a game based on an American license and targeted to an American audience. But I guess that's a moot point now that it's just a 403.

The storyline is written by Dan and Harold, and its 2 years after GB2.

and... they are...not alone..... dun dun duuuuuuun, what will the GB do when they aren't the the only ghost capturing company in town?

oh, its bustin time

So basically it's Ouendan 2 with unlicensed nuclear reactors.

Gimme a 4 player split screen*, online mode, of who can capture the most ghosts, in a certain time frame

por favor

*I guess 8 total players would be enough

I couldnt see them doing a fighting mode online

I want this to be good, even though every fiber of my being is telling me this is going to be utter shite.

Finger's crossed.

Just want to jump in to praise the Genesis Ghostbusters, one of the finest and most underappreciated licensed games ever.

I thought I already talked about this game?
Not my fault no one listens to me :: shrug ::

E10 = Wii, PS2
Teen = 360, PS3, PC

Don't forget to win the hearts and minds of everyone.

Finally, on another off-topic note, I can exclusively reveal some confidential information. Vivendi is developing a blockbuster multi-platform title which will resurrect a huge movie franchise from the eighties.

While the Xbox360 and PS3 versions will feature a photorealistic graphic style, the Wii version will be completely different. It will feature a ´Pixar´ look, as I have been told, as well as a heavy focus on motion controls. The official announcement is expected within the next two weeks.
True?

EDIT: Also, am I the only one fearing a Simpsons Game repeat here? Loads of polish in regard to the license, not so much in regard to gameplay?
