Ghostbusters Trailer 2

I don't think there has been a remake of a film as beloved as Ghostbusters. It would be like remaking Back to the Future for a lot of people.

Pretty much. I can tell you right now, without seeing a trailer that if they remade BTTF with some younger actor (idunno, Eddie Redmayne or something) I'd have a hard time giving it the benefit of the doubt.

Still looks boring and the black female Ghostbuster is still annoying.

Honestly judging from the trailer the movie is just piggybacking on the brand but doesn't really add anything new to the mix.

It suffers from the same thing most remakes suffer from

Not original
Not charming like the original
And nostalgia is compromised with the modern setting

I also hate how they have to update the theme..
Yes this trailer actually has the original but it seems the updated theme will be prevalent and they should never have created a new theme

What other remakes have received hate campaigns of this magnitude? Ghostbusters already had a shitty followup in 2.

There's obviously something more going on here.
Well Star Wars The Force Awaken had some of the most disgusting and awful comments from sites like "Return of kings" and the "Red pill", they even organized a "boycott", and IMO the stuff that came from those sites was way worse than anything on Ghostbusters.

However the Star Wars fanbase is huge and heterogeneous, so all the "cuck staff" shenanigans fell flat and was quickly forgotten, also the campaign for Star Wars was brilliant, with great trailers and awesome marketing. Ghostbusters have a more homogenous fanbase and so far the trailers have been bad and the marketing a disaster.

This trailer is certainly better than the first one, but it just seemed to recycle lines and phrases from the original. All I can hope is this movie proves my opinion wrong about this being a mediocre movie that everyone will forget.

for me it is trying to hard to be funny and the effect made me fell as if I were watching a higher budget version of the scooby doo films, I don't think I'll be going to the movies for this one unless it gets some nice reviews, so far I am going to watch it on video later on.

Fair enough, Star Wars has always been bigger than Ghostbusters after all, I'm not surprised that the immediate response was more pronounced. It's just a shame that similar groups have managed such success with this film.

Of course there is plenty of valid criticism to give about the film, but the amount of nonsense that has been spread is mind boggling.

Looks like the usual by-the-numbers Force Awakens/Jurassic World style reboot+sequel+remake thing that's all the rage (and frankly pretty boring IMO).

Ghost start appearing, rag-tag group of Ghostbusters come together, end of the world+evil portal in the sky, giant "cute" end of movie monster.

The only thing that interests me about movies like this are how (or if) the followup movies are going to be more new and different.

These things are always "by the numbers" because it's what people want, there's nothing wrong with something adhering to... you know, what it is. Yeah, Star Wars and Jurassic World are Star Wars and Jurassic movies. Ghostbusters is about exactly that. If someone is excited for a Star Wars movie it's because they like Star Wars and what it is, not something wildly different.

And if they did do something wildly different, people would just complain that it's too different and not what they wanted. There's absolutely nothing wrong with something being "by the numbers" but if you're personally tired of it, that's reasonable and there's a wide variety of shit out there to watch.

That was a bit better than the first trailer, but the ghosts still look like shit and the black woman still isn't funny.

Not into it.

On a side note, I still don't like that they did a reboot instead of just setting it in the same universe. I mean, reboots often rely way too much on nostalgia for the original, but this is just ridiculous...

There's going to be a lot of crow eating whenever this thing pops.

Nah. Even if it turns out to be good, few will admit it. Even if the RT score is great and it performs well, people will still skull fuck the thing with their hate dicks. Look at how people are acting over the trailers.

...let me clarify. I'm not saying it's wrong to not like the trailers, the first one was shitty, I'm not talking about the people who simply don't like it, but rather the ones acting like circus clowns over it.

There's going to be a lot of crow eating whenever this thing pops.

I mean most of us saying the film looks bad aren't going to have to eat crow if the film ends up being good and its just a case of bad trailers undercutting the movie. People saying this will mega bomb or that "it can't be good because it has an all female cast/is a remake and all remakes are terrible" could in theory but they'd probably still hate even if this ended up being better then the original. There is a far bigger chance for crow from the people who say "the haters are just sexist" then if they see the film and realize "oh its not a sexism thing its just a bad movie"

I mean I disliked the trailer because I thought it wasn't a good trailer guess that makes me a dick and a bandwagon hater. I consistently like or dislike movie trailers I liked or don't like so this is nothing new for me.

Oh ok, must be the norm. That's why the Warcraft trailer that popped up after Ghostbusters had the same amount of views, but only 0.5% dislikes, if that. It must be because Warcraft looks to be such a better movie than Ghostbusters!

People going to downvote it because it's the cool thing to do
There was literally a list of people earlier in the thread of people "doing their part" and downvoting it.

It's amazing what momentum can do. I'd not be so bothered by this if one of the biggest original criticisms wasn't directly tied to the all female cast. =/

Just saw it again. I honestly don't get it. It's a much better trailer than the first, I like what they did to the soundtrack, and I think it actually LOOKS good, the colors are great/ghost designs near the end remind me of the toys/cartoon.

They all look so.... uncomfortable all of the time. I guess with the original cast they had something more organic to work with. The new cast seem like they won a bidding war to get the parts and then said, "now what"?

Still gonna see it at some point. If they fuck this one up, maybe they'll do better next time.

I was willing to think that the last trailer was just a bad trailer, but this one is worse, and makes me less excited for the movie itself. Blah.

Ugh they're trying too hard to be a comedy and its falling flat on its face. The originals had a perfect subtlety to it without having to sell out to these tropes.

There's going to be a lot of crow eating whenever this thing pops.

I guess that depends on what you mean by "pops".

I have no doubt that it will do good at the box office, and I plan on eventually watching it on Netflix with an open mind. If it turns out to be funny and just with misleadingly unfunny trailers then I will be happy about it.

This TRAILERRRRRRR.... was actually not that bad. This is coming from someone who disliked the other ones. Some of the humor still feels "goofier" than the original(Kristen Wiig holding on to the table as she is being dragged out), but the tone of this trailer seems less cringe-worthy than the previous ones. I dug it!

Also, maybe the crowd didn't want to crowdsurf Leslie's character NOT because the race or lady thing, but because she called them a bunch of "sweaty freaks". LOL!
