Also I saw Fate of the Furious and whew lads, that is a fun ass video game ass movie.

It's like how can we top this shit we've already done? Oh, this movie for sure.

Might be in my top 3.

It's so fun. You could nickpit it, but those movies know exactly what they're going for and they nail it.

i wish neo geo games on the switch were cheaper

thats why im excited for disney afternoon collection. i love those games but thats pretty much the exact amount id want to pay for them with extras

The unofficial Giant Bomb XB1 app Jeff tweeted out is kinda basic yet surprisingly effective. It seems better then using the web browser to access the site.

SHOTS FIRED.

I'd like to hear him say that after watching that masterful Styx quick look.

I would love it if GB had smartly edited versions of all their videos. As it is, I usually just listen to their videos like podcasts when possible. So I'm with Patrick in that aspect. I don't have the time to watch dudes play video games for hours every week. But at the same time I love GB's humor. The "Best Of" videos cut out way too many jokes because it's distilling a week's worth of content into 10 minutes. What I would like is a 10-20 minute edit of every piece of content.

Automata is fascinating. We're told (in the first half hour) that humanity had to flee earth in the year 5000 from alien invaders, and now we're tasked to go take it back. But the ruined architecture of the earth does not look 3000 years advanced from where we are now. Is that because the team behind the game didn't think (or feel they should) update the ruins to look more futuristic, or is it because I've been lied to in the story about this timeline?
In the Nier world things started "going bad" in the current day, and by the time the original game takes place the parts of humanity we see are living in medieval-ish rural communities. The whole backstory is giant complicated mess though, spread though Japan-only short stories, articles, stage plays, etc. and you have to dig through fan-translated summaries of them to start to get some idea of where everything fits.

Haven't gotten to this infamous Styx QL yet, but reading the YouTube comments, it seems it's another classic Brad one. I'll need to watch it asap; these are always gold.

Well.. I was actually lucky cause I didn't see a single person throughout the whole game haha... Ended up dying to the circle.

The website needs a redesign badly.

It feels pretty long overdue and probably isn't going to happen for a while yet. I appreciate what the wiki side of the site sets out to do but I kinda wish it was broken out into its own thing. The way Jeff describes his aspirations for it and how resource-intensive it is to develop the backend always makes me think the wiki is holding back the rest of the site.

In almost 10 years of the site's existance I have never used the wiki except the 1-2 times that google sent me there when I searched for a game.

Speaking of a legit Film & 40s contender though, Edge of Tomorrow/Live. Die. Repeat. would be pretty great.

I'm waiting for the They Live one though so I can join Bakalar in finally seeing that movie.

Pretty much the same, at most I edited a couple of pages out of novelty when I first signed up a million years ago but haven't really looked back since.

Any particularly good Battlegrounds videos/streamers worth checking out?

Beaglerush AKA John Teasdale AKA Dan Teasdale's brother

He used to play ArmA with ShackTac and made some videos that Jeff mentioned in the past. He's got a good sense of humor about him and is a pretty aggressive player, so he's fun to watch.

The only times I've found it useful is during interviews in Demo Derby and Jeff says stuff like "I think this guy was at EA at one point, I'm not sure:"

Yeah. It just needs to be more video focused, IMO. Everything else should be secondary.

I also recall Jeff mentioning the wiki isn't visited all that much. They should ditch it, but I doubt they ever will.

It's always been weird to me how twitch basically just piggybacks off of GB's wiki for their game identification and labeling.

I find the Styx franchise... yes, there's a Styx franchise... really odd. It's a AA franchise in a time in which AA franchises are almost dead.

It's weird to me that there are as many Styx games as there are Bioshock games.*
Also sadly Styx doesn't really make a great case why we would need more AA games. Styx 1 at least is really, really bad.

*
Though canonically who knows in how many of those games Styx actually appeared *wink wink*.
(That one goes out to everybody who finished Styx 1)

Nobody tell him that's not a puppy

Both Styx games are really good. This is a contender for worst quicklook ever.

? The writing in Styx 1 is fantastic. Did you finish the game?

If you think the writing is Styx is fantastic you should really play some more games my man. It's one of the worst written games I've played in a long, long time. And yes I finished it, sadly.

Film & 40s: The Pacifier.

I'm all for this. They can continue with some hot The Rock movies like.

Jem and the Holograms (wait what)
Tooth Fairy
Race to Witch Mountain
The Game Plan
and of course DOOOOOM

I hope one of the guys plays Cosmic Star Heroine. It's a damn fine game. I can see it being in my top 10 even with the huge amount of great games released this year.

They should get Jeff back and watch the Spy Hunter movie.
Or get Brad and watch the Hitman movies

Fake edit: Jesus, there is more than one Hitman movie.
