Alex is a weird one. When he is doing his own thing or with Rorie (including the new movie podcast) he is totally fine. Likable even. Gives me hope for the morning show he and Patrick are planning.

When he is on the bombcast or E3 shows with the guys he seems to try too hard, interrupting them with lame jokes and snarky comments. Like a kid brother trying to impress his older brother's friends.

He has talked about his anxiety issues so maybe he just gets nervous.

If you don't already have an affinity for that style of game then I'd imagine it'd look boring. The draw to more old-school RPG combat is nothing to do with the aesthetics or how "engaging" it is, its largely a factor of math and planning and being satisfied with results.
