Saw the PS4 version of War Thunder at Gamescom. Pretty excited to play it myself once it is out on console.

You could almost feel Jeff losing some cynicism as the QL went on, as the game was pulling him in more and more. He seemed to end up liking it.a lot.

Perfect game to QL - as I had really no idea what it was all about beforehand, but ended up very interested before they called it.

I thought it was a Vita game before that Quicklook, and came away kind of disappointed that I didn't buy it while the PS+ discount was still on.

I dunno but they don't seem to be marketing it as heavily as previous ones. Less than a week before release and I have not seen a TV ad, billboard or anything.

I think that a lot of people on Gaf don't consume traditional media like they used to back then, do you think you might be part of that subset of people?

I mean, there was a 60fps GTAV trailer during Breaking Bad, which is probably the biggest show on TV right now. They're probably advertising, just not where most Gaffers are necessarily looking.

I actually keep an eye out for game advertising around LA.

The three most heavily advertised games I noticed over the past few years were:

1. Red Dead Redemption
2. Fallout 3
3. Left 4 Dead

I honestly haven't seen much out there for GTA5. I'm especially surprised by this considering the game's setting.

With regards for advertising, we live in a completely new age where it pays more to focus in online advertising than in years past. Everyone's too busy looking at their smartphone to see the ginormous ad in the sky.

Well, I only watched the first 20 minutes yesterday.

Every transition, animation, and pronunciation seemed rather hyperactive and OTT.

Might be something that comes from watching the game rather than interacting with it.

It's a really good game. Lots of fun with a couple of friends. The f2p model isn't super intrusive, either.

he is, when i met him at PAX he was just a bit taller than me and I'm 6'2". seems like a sloucher though. brad is the shortest one among them if memory serves (and I've never met Patrick).

Drew gettin me to download War Thunder again. I thought the simulation side fell short when I last tried it but it was still fairly early, I don't remember if they even had "full-real" battles. For fans of either type of flight sim it mops the floor with World of Warplanes.
