Jesus Christ at the live Miku videos. It's like the TGS 2010 Konami live Dance Masters music event where Thomas Nagano rapped and Naoki Maeda DJ'd except you don't even get the weird satisfaction of everyone being a real person.

There's a new Taiko came coming out
But we get Project Diva instead.

I just bought Project Diva F. They are fun games and totally deserves to be ridiculed. I really like rhythm games and I take what I get.

I listened to a shoegaze Hatsune Miku album a little while ago that was actually pretty good.

Wow, this is the best day we've had for content in a good while! Two great 40+ minute Quick Looks, a 3 hour Spookin' With Scoops and even an Unprofessional (Thurs)days!

So whats the target audience for Hatsune Miku?

I guess she / it has that creeper appeal but there are a lot of people at these concert videos and I dont think creepers like to congregate like that..... unless is this some weird Japanese Bronie thing?

This is the result of only playing three songs in a 50 minute QL.

People who are really into Hatsune Miku. I had this exact discussion in the Hatsune Miku F OT. From my personal experience, it's people who are big anime fans who got into Hatsune Miku through osmosis (Because most fans I've met have never seen Black Rock Shooter, the movie starring Hatsume Miku, which is awful) or people who saw the design, were intrigued by it, and fell down a vocaloid hole. It's so odd because when Miku was first a thing, she was more a meme than anything. It's like what happens when people give a very specific particular point of the internet so much attention that it gains sentience, regardless of what the creators ever wanted for it.

And yeah, from a purely gameplay stance, it's a good game, but the movies in the background are a dramatic distraction, to the point where you wish you could just turn them off.

But that's sort of the thing about this game. Even though it's a good rhythm game, it's a rhythm game second, and a fan service distributor first. It's a lot like Theatrhythma that way, where playing the game really doesn't matter as much as fawning over character models and references does.

The recent quick looks are that good? I have some things to look forward to in a bit! Along with another Bombin' tomorrow, this has been a pretty good week on Giant Bomb.

People were starved for good games on the Wii.

Not to talk shit about NMH or anything -- I like the series-- but they were not exactly top-quality games.

I mean...real talk, none of Suda51's games are really very good. The best one is Shadows of the Damned and it's a second rate RE4 clone mechanically. But it, and all his other games, are stylish as fuck.

Makes you wonder what would happen if he paired up with someone who could wrangle all that style...

Shadows of the Damned wasn't even Suda, it was directed by a guy named Massimo Guarini.

I remember some thread a while back where there was an article about the guy, and 90% of the people in there had no idea that Suda hadn't actually directed SotD.

AC1 came out at the same time to glowing reviews and that game was way worse

...and if memory serves, the PS3 line-up was equally barren at the time wasn't it ?:P

I actually think AC and NMH share a lot of the same problems, now that you mention it.

Blame the marketing for that.

Is anyone else growing tired of 50+ minute "Quick" looks?

I don't have the time to invest an hour every day to watch just quick looks, I wish they were 20-25 minute range.

Quality of quantity please Giant Bomb.

When they're as good as the Killer is Dead and Hatsune Miku QLs, nope.

Did you watch it? All 50 minutes were pure gold. If you can't watch the whole thing, you can resume later, ya know.
