Ohhh, they did an actual cast with Jeff's as a cameraman on yesterday's Dota 2 stream, with narration and everything, and the actual daily dota match we're all expecting only came up today?

Good thing I didn't watch it yesterday then... sheesh!

Wait what? I'm not sure I understand.

Is there a link to the Jeff stream?

He wasn't really the cameraman, it was just his client and stream. He was just following what the casters were doing through the client.

I've never really played a MOBA for more than 10 minutes but I imagine, because of the long length of most matches, it's a lot like MMO raiding. After a bad night you suddenly realise just how much time you wasted not having fun.

I dunno. A molten core raid in vanilla WoW took easily 3 hours if you weren't really good at it. For a game of Dota 2, anything over 1 hour is very unusual. I think the average game length is around 36 minutes.

Yeah but I'm talking about last night, where they lost 4 in a row. Two against GAF, and then two matchmaking.

Edit: Should've waited a couple more minutes before posting. Surely it would take more than one hard loss streak to GAF to Break Brad

Hopefully this doesn't stop the Bombcast DOTA talk, though...

They played two matches against the Giantbomb Tournament Winner (the GAF Team) and then played 2 to 3 matches on regular matchmaking and they lost every single one of them. That's probably it.

Is the video with the daily dota team's audio up yet?

The video on Giantbomb is the video with the players talking (Brad, Crispy, Pascual, Bodega and Merlini). It's "filmed" from Brad's perspective. It's your usual Daily Dota.

If you want the regular game narration, with the narrator's camera and full view of both teams, you need to go to the twitch site and watch it there. This is a more tournament-like stream. I can't stand the voice of the narrators.

There are two or three matches they did in matchmaking after the main event that are also on twitch, and I don't know if they're part of the Daily Dota video that went up on the site (i'm still watching it). From the size of the video (1:43 hours), i'd say no.

Yes. I stupidly watched the twitch vod with the caster audio and then rewatched the entire thing with the skype audio. *sigh*

Thanks. Caught the match live yesterday so I was able to hear the actual commentators. Just wanted to hear how they reacted, especially that Elder Titan. Hearing GAF's reactions would be the perfect Trifecta.

LOL THE JUGG BAN. Oh man, they have no idea.

why so dramatic? It isn't like he is going to have much time to play it in the next 3 months - what with the holiday rush and new consoles.

What i'm going to say is pretty crazy, but clicking the fast forward button once on VLC doesn't distort the voices and makes it go at 1.25 speed and it's pretty listenable and makes shit go a little faster.

I have problems, don't I?

I don't see him getting sucked into anything other than GTA V and maybe Watch Dogs. He still isn't purchasing any of the new consoles as far as I know.

We haven't seen the last of DOTA II from Brad Shoemaker this year.

You don't know how addictions work do you?

Oh don't worry that heroin junkie won't keep doing it, he has a job and a family.

One assumes he will be assigned games for coverage or review - if he is in to them or not. Also, GOTY backlog. Maybe he will finish all the Assassin Credd series before Black Flag (lol).

Snark much? Yes, liking a video game a little too much is exactly like heroin withdrawl. Besides he wasn't threatening to uninstall because he is addicted - only because he lost a string of games.

Isn't he? I thought all 4 of them (inc Patrick) and at least one pre-ordered. Maybe he want to see them both hands on at work before jumping into one or both.

Brad has pretty much been on the "launch lineups suck and buying consoles on launch is a waste of time" train for awhile now. Which I agree with.

That last game wasn't so bad. That Bat mostly complained, but it was an ok game.
Yeah, not dark at all. Not like Pascual said he would slit his throat if they lose again or lashed out at Kessler who got real quiet in that last game. :p I'm sure it was all good a short while after the stream - like any other sport, Dota 2 can really flare tempers (in both directions).... for a short timespan.

I thought both games were fairly entertaining and the GAF showmatch was fantastic.

I think he acknowledges that, but the general advice is still true.

I know that I sure as fuck have nothing I want to play on launch.

Thats valid as long as you agree that early adoption is important to the life cycle of the console and sales help drive the production of new media for the device.

In short, you're welcome late adopters. YOU'RE WELCOME.

:P
