Holy shit, I just saw the video of that gif that Mckmas posted. (boss fight)...I'm not worthy of this much awesomeness. Can't wait to play this. I love the QTE.

This is why I love God of War so so much: you guys just go all out and break the wall and keep on running.
 
Much of God of War feels like "wouldn't it be cool if there'd be this..." but then really well executed. This Boss Fight is the same. I love it.
 
I wonder what HD resolutions it will support. GOW1 supported 480p, and they said "We spent a lot of time on making the resolution a bit higher". GOW2 @ 720p? or one of those odd resolutions?

I think it'll be more about a clean/sharp image than upping resolution?

WTF? PS2 is a beast! Team Santa Monica FTMFW! So beautiful...that boss fight was crazy...I'm definitely getting the US version in March - I can't wait 6months+ for the PAL version (and most definitely without the 480p support).

I can't wait to see what these guys can do with the PS3...*drools*

What makes you say that the PAL version definitely won't have 480p? The original GoW had it in Europe (including widescreen). And the official European release date is the 30th of March according to Eurogamer.
 
I was going to avoid the spoiler...but then some dude posted an animated gif without any real previous warning. Meh. *downloads*

Hopefully I haven't spoiled myself 33% of the total bosses like last time. :P

Becos there aint no 480p in the PAL version of GOW.
Not at startup, not with holding x + triangle and not in the options menu. It does have WS though.
And many games with 480p in the US version were removed, with no good reason, when it's released in Europe, like Tekken 5, SC3, GT4 etc.
 
i've just fired up the pc and saw this article linked from the http://www.gameboar.com site on the ign feed.

i have to say i've got big hopes for this game.

damn it! jaffe! don't you dare screw this up.

the sense of scale in the first game was fantastic and it looks like from these shots of fighting the living colossus statue that things are only going to get better in god of war 2.

it's definitely one of the titles that i'm most looking forward to in 2007.

i'm keeping my fingers crossed that sony give the development team the green light to do god of war 3.

I love my PS2 sooo much

This looks so mindnumbingly good, and we only have to wait a couple more months before we can stab that statue in the eye

Also, is it just me or does Barlog look really tired in that interview? Seems like he spent a lot of hours each day to make this game worth our while :p

Same here. They are taking the right steps for this game play wise to please the hardcore action gamers, now all they need to do is add in carry over stats and its day one purchase for me. After finishing up Okami my PS2 is aching for something new now.

the developer interview confirmed that your abilities and magic will carry over on a second playthrough

They said it'll have carry over stats in the video interview, and incentives to play through multiple times
