I platinumed God of War and I'm still surprised that it made it this far.

Bloodborne probably won't beat The Witcher 3, but it should.

More like Bloodboring amiright? It controlled like I was playing as fully fleshed out stick figures.

God of War or Red Dead Redemption 2 for Game of the Generation. Anything less would be uncivilized.

God of War is a good or maybe even a great game without a doubt, but its moment to moment gameplay left a lot to be desired and it's more like disposable entertainment for me. The story did enough to keep me hooked and I may be coming across as super negative, but I did actually enjoy it, it just didn't reach top tier in any category other than perhaps visuals.

Bloodborne on the other hand is fucking incredible. A great spin on the souls formula we've enjoyed for so long. It is unapologetically gamey and uses its platform as a "game" way more than God of War. I don't need over the shoulder, forced walking, over the top story, shaking camera, scripted sequences etc. I'm not saying games that have (dare I say it?) cinematic qualities are bad, but more often than not it's the games that let the gameplay and allow the story to be told in game that leave a more lasting impression on me.

Now, the Pro patch on GOW is fantastic. Bloodborne loses MEGA points because it runs like trash and honestly I hadn't played PC much the first time I played Bloodborne. It severely impacts my enjoyment and I think I could stomach 30fps, but that frame pacing and drops are hideous.

Sekiro is my favourite From game this gen, but Bloodborne could be a top of all time if it just tidies up well on PS5.

This thread is going to be great, but God of War shouldn't have made it this far and it 100% won't survive this round.

Voting God Of War. Bloodborne felt like someone ripping off Dark Souls. Dark Souls should sue.

Both games are amazing in their own right. But Bloodborne had the luck of impressing me the most while also introducing me to the Fromsoftware games of which I am a big fan because of it. I have to give this to Bloodborne for that reason.
BB has grown to one of my favorite games of all time.

One of the few times where I wish I could pick both. Two of my favourite games but I'll go with Bloodborne - for the gameplay, lore, music, atmosphere, and the Old Hunters.

I enjoyed GOW 2018 but its no contest, its Bloodborne for me. Enemy/boss variety alone destroys GOW.

This is the toughest one yet. Christ! Bloodborne slightly edges out God Of War. Especially if you played this game back in 2015, when literally no good next-generation games had come out, it was a revelation.

While I expect Bloodborne to win this whole thing because its userbase is very high here. I do find that GoW is the better game. It was just a better overall experience than Bloodborne. BB just felt like other souls games but with less of a focus on stagger/defense and more offense oriented with weird subplots. Sadly if I were to go by GAF standards, BB is the most overrated game of all time.

God of War totally blew me away. Great storytelling and so many Holy Shit setpieces. Easily one if the best games of the gen.

Those are the only 2 PS exclusive I loved, I voted GoW cause BB is the usual From Sofware formula with some rifinements.

Bloodborne!

It is THE game of the generation, in my top 3 of all time. The more I play it, the better it becomes. Such an amazing story and gameplay.

God of War is good, but it has so many flaws with its combat system that hold it back. Move assist being the most annoying for me.

Bloodborne is king.

Edit: Bloodborne might be my favorite game ever made. Kratos never stood a chance as much as I love him.

I did not even last 1 hour in bloodborne... I have had it sitting on my PS4 PRO since I got the machine.

God of War is probably the game of the generation.

Bloodborne.
God of War is one of my favorite games of the gen but Bloodborne has the better combat, bosses and a more unique and memorable world.

GOAT Bloodborne. It's not even a contest. GoW isn't even better than Dark Souls, nevermind BB (as great as GoW is).

They are quite different sorts of game though, so in any other context both titles do what they set out to do extremely well.
There isn't a "loser" in this head-to-head, just one is more popular than the other.

omg this a good one 🤭

Ok, GOW was impressive change for the series, i hatedthe characters and writting of old GOW and while i don't love new one, its a noticeable improvment for Kratos, i also like the combat more than Bloodborne but the enemy design and variety doesn't do it justice and its cleart PART 1 of a trilogy/new arc.

Bloodborne on the other hand is a modern classic, amazing bosses and art direction, intriguing lore, taking Souls and turned up to eleven, it edges out GOW for me becausy its a fully complete experience Bloodborne is so good it should win the tournament tbh

Tried getting into Bloodbourne a few times and it has never clicked. I like the other Souls games though.

Vote GoW. It didn't blow me away like a lot of people here, but I enjoyed my time with it and will play the next one.
