GOG DRM-Free Time Machine Sale

And there's the inevitable Witcher!

I'm sort of at the stage where it slightly blows my mind that there are GoG users who don't have it, now :-)

If anyone here has a physical copy of the Witcher, GOG lets you enter the key and redeem a digital copy. No need to rebuy.

Well seeing as i've only just bought the components for my PC build, The Witcher was somethign I was definitely going to buy over the next few months, so to see this at £1.25 :excited:

Cant wait to play it.

So, my laptop isn't great. Core 2 Duo with 3 GB ram, but onboard intel graphics. I don't think it will play The Witcher, but I hope to get a new laptop in the next 6 months. Do I buy this game now and sit on it?

PS - Just beat The Witcher 2 on Xbox on effin loved it.

Why wait? it's $2 only, just get it and play when you have PC to run it on.
We might get another sale with it in 6 months, but we might not get it too. Why risk?

Buy The Witcher, it's the best single character RPG ever made.

Eh? No.

Hahaha you don't know how to post images.

I prefer SS2 as a game, but for dynamic story telling which rewards player decision making with genuine consequences The Witcher takes the crown.

System shock 2 is not an RPG.It's an FPS which incorporates RPG elements.

Aw man, not this shit again. Let me guess, neither is Zelda.

On topic, I'm a little bummed that the only game I really see as appealing to me would be Crusader: No Remorse, which I missed a couple nights ago.

You mean there are people who consider Zelda to be an RPG?
I can't imagine why anyone would mistake the Zelda games for RPGs.

If Zelda is an RPG, then Metroid is too, given it has pretty much the same type of character progression, but I've never seen anyone claim that Metroid is an RPG. I think Zelda sharing a fantasy setting with so many RPGs leads people to conclude it is one.

I do consider Deus Ex to be an RPG, so maybe I'm crazy.

I really don't get the praise for Witcher. I have it, I played it, and I must say it sucks ass. The combat in particular is about as enjoyable as poking myself in the eye.

As for System Shock 2 not being an RPG, well, Ha Ha Ha. And Ha.

Hmm, looks like the switching script got stuck.

Still ten minutes to go by my clock. I've seen this a few times: My theory is that at some point you lost the connection to the server, so the local timer ticked down without external influence or updates. It expired at your end, but in reality, more time was added on, so *you* see the expired page, but as far as the server and the rest of the world is concerned, it's still going.

In short, try refreshing.

Torchlight for $1.50.

Meh, completely pointless game thanks to the better in every conceivable way sequel.

Looks like my pickup will be $13.59 for:

Wizardry 6 + 7
Star Control 1 + 2
Serious Sam
HOMM V
Sam + Max
The Witcher Enhanced (Dependent on better PC or Mac someday.)

Heroes, Wizardry and Star Control were exactly the types of games I was looking for (and represent a truly SICK amount of potential gametime.) Wish there had been just one more of the HOMM/Star Control type of game experience in this sale.

In retrospect, I probably would have better put the money I gave to Serious Sam, Sam + Max and the Witcher towards something full-priced like Age of Wonders Shadow Magic. Maybe that's a better way to treat these sales?

Live and learn!

And now we get into the "Indie games you probably own already" part of the sale.

Note that thanks to this post, we probably know the 2011-2013 games (Unepic, Legend of Grimrock, Spelunky). So 2010 seems to be the only real mystery.

Machinarium would have been so much better than Torchlight which almost everybody owns already.

For 2010 i bet on Amnesia

So at this point if that previous poster is correct it's pretty much known what the other years will be.

Witcher 2 would be amazing though.

Can we short the time circuits and get Tomb Raider on sale again? It happened while I was asleep and so far it's been the only thing I really wanted.
