GOG DRM-Free Time Machine Sale

Bought Amnesia, my backlog once my PC is built is already huge, I cant stop buying games for little over £1 though!

Any predictions what the games will be for 11, 12 and 13?

Not buying amnesia. I love horror games and that price is a steal but I already bought Witcher 1 & 2 for $5 on the last steam sale and I don't even have my gaming rig built yet.

Hopefully people that buy Amnesia can play it. Preordered it from the devs site back in may 2010, and still haven't gotten out of the starting area because I'm to chicken. Same thing with Outlast and Slender: The Arrival. I like the idea of these fp horror games with no weapons, but they are nerve racking, more so with headphones on.

Their download servers are tanking, estimated an hour + for a 1 gig download 185KB/sec

It's one of those games where I revisit it once I muster enough courage, get a little farther, then have an anxiety attack and put it back on the shelf. Wash, rinse, repeat.

In for:

1985: King's Quest 1+2+3
1987: Space Quest 1+2+3
1988: Police Quest 1+2+3+4
1991: Wing Commander 1+2

Played and loved these as a kid, especially Police Quest and Wing Commander.

I liked Unepic, it was fun to play and even though you definitely got the feeling of it not being the greatest game ever.
If you like metroidvania games it's absolutely worth $2.50.

I follow games pretty damn closely (plus own every console since the 80s, 2,000+ games, etc.) and I've never heard of Unepic. Not once in my life before just now.

Don't know if anyone would like to help me out but in the off chance that the 2012 game is the witcher 2, and it goes down at least 50% would someone do me a solid and buy it/gift it to me and I'll PayPal them the cash when I get up in the morning?

Edit - looking at the post below.....Never mind :(

And now we get into the "Indie games you probably own already" part of the sale.

Note that thanks to this post, we probably know the 2011-2013 games (Unepic, Legend of Grimrock, Spelunky). So 2010 seems to be the only real mystery.

Welp, confirmed. No Witcher 2 and yet another spelunky sale!

Guys stop buying games so Spelunky can come quicker!

Thanks :P

Yes I know I probably could have bought it before but I already own it on Steam and PSN. I want the DRM free version to take to work to play in downtime :)

Nice work, GOG. That 90% convinced me to buy Amnesia even though I'll never play it.
Well, maybe I'll play it some day after I see it available for an even better price.
The same way I bought Sam&Max season 1 for $5 on Steam, and now feel I should really get around to playing it since it was made available for $3 now (on GOG no less).

Would I be missing much in terms of Steam Workshop content if I bought Grimrock from GoG? I know this was supposed to be quite open in terms of creating user generated content, but I don't know how much of that actually materialized.

I just looked at it and there are 25 pages of mods in the workshop.

I went ahead and got it anyway, it looks like the vast majority of the mods are available for the stand alone version anyway, and they made it so they are pretty easy to install.

...and there it is. Spelunky confirmed.

There were some pretty damn good deals in this sale, but I'm clearly getting to point where I already have most (not all) of what I want, so it was a bit disappointing for me. The only thing I would've picked up was the Zork collection, as I remember playing that on my Dad's work computer when I was 9 or 10, but that was loooong gone by the time I learnt about the sale.

kinda tempted to double dip on Spelunky (have it on Steam, get a DRM-free copy with extras on GOG) but not sure I can really justify the cost on it right now

I don't think the extras are really worth it in this case. The soundtrack is amazing, but it's mostly short loops instead of proper songs, so it's not really the sort of thing you'd listen to by itself, and Spelunky Classic is already free. Having a DRM free version is obviously nice, but for most people Steam's Daily Challenge mode is probably going to be the deciding factor when deciding which version to buy.

So that's it for the sale then, with 2013 closing with Spelunky?

How'd everyone do? I purchased Torchlight, Grimlock, and Spelunky. I was iffy on Crusadors, but I have enough on my plate.

Only ended up getting UnEpic. For the rest of the sales, I either already had the game, or didn't want it. I was really hoping for Might & Magic 8 and 9 for super cheap(I already have 1-7, X), but oh well.

Very interesting idea for a sale, but it sucks that you could miss out if you have to work and such.

yeah...saw the thread yesterday and thought i'd just be able to hit it up whenever.

sad about missing out on Crusader, but meh it's only $6 anyway and $2 off if you buy both. buying anyway. Buy Crusader, it's about red boba fett shooting people

I just got my account in December, so a pretty nice sale for me. Missed out Crusader and Sam & Max though.

Side note, is there any way to get voice in Star Control 2? I know Ur-Quan Masters has it.
And does Guilty Gear Isuka include the soundtrack?

Just got Spelunky. I suppose it's about time I owned it

Edit: And now I find out only the Steam version has the daily challenge :(
